One day, my chief nurse asked me to shave a client who was scheduled for an elective C-section the next day. When I got to her room, I honestly didn’t know how to start the conversation 😂 but I reminded myself, “You’ve got this.”

I politely introduced myself, explained the procedure, and asked for her consent, which she kindly gave. I gathered everything I needed, ensured her privacy, and to my surprise, she had already shaved! She had mentioned it earlier, but I wanted to confirm.

So, I just did my inspection, thanked her for being prepared, made sure she was comfortable, and left.

The second time I was assigned to do the same procedure, I did it with so much ease, realizing it’s one of those things every nurse must get used to along the way. 💚

As a parent, caregiver, or guardian, you should never keep chemicals or cleaning products within the reach of children.

As a nurse, I once witnessed a heartbreaking incident, a little child fought for his life after accidentally swallowing soap that had been left in the wrong place. Despite all our efforts, we couldn’t save him. Within 24 hours, he was gone. 💔

It was another deeply traumatizing experience, a painful reminder that a moment of carelessness can cost a life. Please, always keep chemicals safely locked away and out of children’s reach.

Life can be so private that no one would ever know I once witnessed a child die because her parents refused oxygen therapy. 😔 Despite all our efforts as a medical team to explain how vital the oxygen was, they still refused. We could only stand by helplessly as the child took her last breath.

So this Man walked into the clinic with complaints of Severe headache, Blur vision and weakness, on examination, you could see that he was in an obvious distress, so after taking his Vital signs, i found out that his blood pressure was on a very high side, i quickly administered some medications and advised him to rest for a while before resuming his activities 🙏🏾, This man looked at me and said, "Nurse Ocha", so you mean i should lie down and rest, like take a bed? and i said yes Sir 🤦🏾‍♀️

He didn't decline, he rested for about an hour, before leaving the clinic, i was impressed by his complaince, most people feel like lying on the hospital bed is a death sentence, when your body is telling you something different, try and rest, if you slump and die, the world will still continue in your absence.

Check your blood pressure and sugar level, adhere to your medications too.👌🏾
