Hey Health Fam, now let’s know ways one can contact Hepatitis B virus, 👍🏻 let’s go😊😊
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is mainly spread when infected blood or certain body fluids enter the body of another person.
Common ways hepatitis B can be transmitted
Contact with infected blood for example, sharing needles, accidental needle-stick injuries, or using improperly sterilized medical/tattoo/piercing equipment.
Sexual contact with someone who has hepatitis B, especially without protection.
From an infected mother to her baby during childbirth this is an important route of transmission.
Sharing items that may have blood on them, such as razors or toothbrushes.
Sharing needles or other injection equipment.
Blood transfusion with infected blood uncommon where blood is properly screened.
Household exposure to blood from an infected person, particularly where there are open wounds or shared sharp personal items.
You don’t normally get HBV from hugging, shaking hands, sharing food or water, coughing, sneezing, or sitting beside someone with hepatitis B.
And importantly, hepatitis B is preventable with vaccination.
Stay safe health fam🥂

Hey Health Fam! 👋🏽 Trust our day is going well. ❤️
Do you know that Hepatitis B can be very deadly if left untreated? 😩
One tricky thing about Hepatitis B is that many people may have the infection without knowing it. You can carry the virus for a long time without obvious signs or symptoms and still go about your normal daily activities.
For some people, the immune system is able to fight off the infection. But honestly, we don’t want to leave our health to chance, right? 🤧
The scary part is that chronic Hepatitis B infection can gradually damage the liver and may lead to liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. 😟
So, how do we protect ourselves?
One very important way is through vaccination.
If you haven’t been vaccinated against Hepatitis B, speak with a healthcare professional or visit a healthcare facility to find out about getting vaccinated.
And please, don’t wait until you feel sick before you check your Hepatitis B status.
Prevention is always better than cure!
Have you been vaccinated against Hepatitis B?

Never assume a positive pregnancy test is good news🤧🤧🤧 I congratulated a woman after her pregnancy test and her response humbled me.
I once ran a pregnancy test for a woman in her 40s.
The result came out positive.
Without thinking too much about it, I smiled and said, “Congratulations your test came out Positive which means you’re pregnant”
Her response?
“Did I tell you I need the child? Why are you congratulating me?”
I was honestly caught off guard and dumbfounded 🥹🥹
But that moment taught me something important about healthcare communication:
A positive result does not automatically mean good news.
We don’t know what is happening in a patient’s life.
Maybe the pregnancy was planned.
Maybe it wasn’t.
Maybe she has been trying for years.
Maybe she already has the number of children she wants.
Maybe she is scared.
Maybe there are personal, financial, medical or relationship circumstances we know nothing about.
As healthcare professionals, our job is to communicate the result not decide how the patient should feel about it.
