These are a few things I do on Washdays that help me grow & retain length in my 4c hair
Washdays can make or mar your natural hair growth journey. So you have to pay close attention to the things you do to your hair on Washdays.
Some of the things I do to my 4c hair on Washdays include:
Detangling: I work in sections, apply a good hair detangler like okro gel, finger detangle properly before Detangling with a wide tooth comb or Detangling brush.
Shampoo: I use a good shampoo to wash my natural hair and I focus the shampoo process on my scalp.
Ayurvedic Hair Masks & Treatments: This step is totally optional in your Washday routine but it is highly effective in strengthening & nourishing your hair follicles.
Deep conditioning: You need a good deep conditioner to restore moisture back to your hair strands and for each deep conditioning process you need to use a heat cap or any other heat source. This would help the deep conditioner or hair mask pe*****te your hair strands and work more effectively.
Moisturize: you need a very good leave-in conditioner to moisturize your hair strands and it is best to apply your conditioner to damp hair
Seal in: you need a hair butter or hair growth oil to seal in the moisture. I use my Ayurvedic hair grow oil to seal in moisture & also massage my scalp to improve blood flow & circulation to my hair follicles & this will in turn boost hair growth.
Throughout my entire Washday process I am very gentle with my 4c hair, I take my time to apply & massage each product into my hair strands and I also make sure I work in small sections.

I wore my hair out this entire week as the puff in the pictures.
The amount of compliments I got ehh🤭 and the amount of "is it all your hair" was overwhelming, but I low-key liked it.
The problem is I was to lazy to put my hair in chunky braids or twists at night, so I had to sleep with my hair in the puff and in the mornings i just refreshed my hair with water and leave-in and repacked the puff.
I almost forgot to mention that I haven't detangled my hair for like 5 or 6 weeks now, for context I had my hair previously in mini twists for 4 weeks and I didn't bother to detangle after the takedown because I needed the definition from the twists to rock the puff.🤧
Today is washday, so I just need you to wish me luck with the detangling process.🥹
I'll give you update on how these goes cause I'm even contemplating on cutting off my hair right now to make things easier for me.
P.S: I washed my hair every weekend when I had the twists in.
