Your hair does NOT need to be in a protective style all the time to grow. 👀
You can wear your natural hair out, style it regularly and still retain length — if you’re gentle with it and have a good hair-care routine.
Protective styles are a tool, not a requirement for hair growth.

That's what I used to believe.
When I started my natural hair journey, I had no idea what I was doing.
Every wash day felt like a battle and every salon visit left me feeling like my hair was the problem.
I was told my hair was "too hard," "too thick," "too stubborn" and "too difficult to manage."
After hearing it enough times, I believed it.
But the more I learned about my 4C hair, the more I realised something:
My 4C hair was never the problem.
The misinformation was.
Once I stopped chasing every natural hair trend and started understanding how my 4c hair actually works, everything changed. My routine became simpler, wash days became easier and I finally started enjoying my hair instead of fighting it.
Every lesson in this carousel is something I wish someone had told me years ago.
