MY 10 YEAR PLAN WHEN I FIRST GOT MARRIED!

As i got closer to him that fateful day, i was suddenly overcome by an overwhelming feeling of fear!..There he stood, so handsome and young!.... yes extremely young and i asked myself, " Sally, what are you going to do with this young man you are marrying today?"

You see, prior to our wedding, lots of people said different things!...Some said i was too fat for him, others said i was too black for him, another group said i was too educated for him, say d man no go fit 'control me'....as per say my eye don too tear!.......lol......In all of this, he simply said, i was his choice!

Suddenly it hit me!.....yes, i got the answer, while the vows were being said and people congratulated us, i made a decision, right there in the church.....TO SPEND THE FIRST 10 YEARS OF MY MARRIAGE HELPING MY HUSBAND TO GROW!....This plan included him seeing his siblings through school, investments, etc

While the choir sang beautiful songs in the background and so many people smiled down our faces with messages of congratulations and gave us gifts, i was internally busy with how to make my plan come to light.....yes, i wanted to fully deserve him and being a burden was never part of my plan!

After the ceremonies were done, i moved to Warri, Delta state to join him to begin my new life, away from my familiar environment to a totally strange land.. After several applications, i could not secure a job so i went back to doing my business, you see, i started my first business while serving in Ekiti state.....Traveling to Cotonou (Benin republic) to buy clothes, shoes, bags and accessories to resell in Nigeria......This i did for 4 years, Two incidences happened during this period that i will never forget in a hurry!....On a particular trip while busy shopping in the busy Misebu market in Cotonou, a wheelbarrow pusher accidentally ran into me, the impact was directly below my lower stomach, unkown to him, i was pregnant with our first baby, Anthony.....hmmmmm, the pain was much, i went into a shop, sat down and asked myself, " Sally, why are you doing this?, atleast your husband has a job that can feed you".... after a little thought, i told myself, "i married a young man, i cant be a burden to him"...... i bought some water, drank it and continued my shopping!

On another trip, 3 months after Anthony was born.........we were seated at the Seme border, waiting for our taxi man to transport us back from the border to Lagos, you see, at Seme border, because of the custom regulations and security concern, everyone have their taximan, someone who you can trust and crossing is at night...On this particular night, our taximan delayed, he had some car issues, we waited into the early hours of the day. At about 12am, i looked down at my sleepy hairy boy, so so quiet, you would hardly tell i was holding a baby!.....the thought came again," Sally, why are you doing this?" I came up with the very same answer, " i married a young man and i can't be a burden to him"!

Infact more than once i have told my husband, " babe, am going to give you the first 10 years of our marriage to support you ooooo, afterwards, i will be travelling round the world, enjoying myself with my children, nobody should say am squandering your resources when i start ooooo"......hahahahahahahaha, naso my hustle be from Cotonou to Dubai, to India and Importing from the USA....All in order not to be a burden to the young man i married....lol....After several years, i had to stop my business because of debts, as soon as my load land, naso the money go scatter everywhere!
