FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YEWA YOUTH ASSOCIATION (YYA) Commends Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle on Strategic Engagement with Ogun Traditional Rulers Towards Ogun West 2027 Agenda
Yewaland, Ogun State – March 18, 2026
The Yewa Youth Association (YYA), under the leadership of Comrade Isikalu Olanrewaju Alamu, commends His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas, for his bold and strategic leadership in advancing the Ogun West 2027 agenda.
This commendation follows the monarch’s initiative on March 17, 2026, where he led a delegation of Ogun West traditional rulers to a high-level closed-door engagement with the Ijebu and Remo Traditional Councils. The meeting forms part of ongoing royal consultations aimed at building consensus and garnering statewide support ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The delegation was first received at the Awujale’s Palace by the Ijebu Traditional Council, led by the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebayo, alongside over 40 royal fathers. The team thereafter proceeded to Remoland, where they were hosted by the Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, and other prominent monarchs.
Both engagements were strategic consultations focused on strengthening unity and consolidating support for the Ogun West governorship aspiration. The meetings also reflect a significant shift from past political patterns, as stakeholders work towards presenting a unified and widely accepted candidate for the 2027 elections.
As consultations intensify, YYA notes with pride the emerging unity among Ogun West traditional rulers and political leaders, signaling a renewed determination to secure the governorship position for the region after decades of struggle.
The resolution remains clear: to support a candidate who is prepared, capable, credible, widely accepted, and possesses a proven record of service to the people.
The Association further acknowledges that as party primaries approach, more strategic engagements across key stakeholders and traditional institutions are expected. At this critical moment, the leadership of Oba Olugbenle continues to serve as a guiding force in positioning Ogun West for a historic breakthrough.
The Yewa Youth Association (YYA) applauds His Royal Majesty for his visionary leadership, courage, and unwavering commitment to the progress and political advancement of Ogun West and Yewaland at large.
