In 390 AD, monks from the Kingdom of Aksum (Axum) begun translating the Biblical scripts into Ge'ez - which is Ethiopia's ancient language that is still in use today. The DG/CEO, NIMC, Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, paid a working visit to the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, as part of the concerted efforts to broaden the scope of Identity Management.

The visit was also to foster the deployment of broadband technology in all the 774 Local Government Areas to drive uninterrupted National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment across all the nooks and crannies of the country.
