Omotola relocates to Hollywood with family

Leading Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has relocated to the United State of America with her family.

The Nation spotted the producer and practitioner and her family on Sunday, September 24 during a church service in West Hollywood.

When asked if she was on holiday in the U.S, the multi-award-winning actress responded saying, ‘No, we live here now.”

Easily one of the biggest actors to come out of Africa, the former model made her Nollywood film debut in 1995 and has since acted in more than 300 movies that have sold millions of copies.

10-year-old r***d, killed in Lagos, comedienne Princess alleges

Nigerian comedienne and actress, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, on Monday raised the alarm on the r**e and death of a 10-year-old in the Ayobo area of Lagos State.
In a video on her Instagram page, Princess stated that the incident happened on Sunday, adding that the police had denied the victim’s family access to the child’s co**se.
She, therefore, made a plea to the general public to visit the Ayobo police station and assist the child’s mother in getting justice.
The teary Princess said, “If you live around Ayobo, help me go to Ayobo police station. This girl was r***d and killed yesterday. Her name is Aisha.
“When you get to Ayobo police station, please DM me your number. The police are not allowing the mother of the child to see the child. The police just said she couldn’t see her; that they’ve taken her to the mortuary.

“She’s almost losing her mind. I’m begging you. It could be anyone’s child. She was going to church yesterday. They r***d her, killed her in the afternoon, and threw her into somebody’s compound.”
When reached, the Divisional Police Officer of Ayobo command, Charles Oladele, stated that he couldn’t speak on the matter, adding that the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Ben Hundeyin, was in the right position to do so.
“Please, if you need any information about this matter, pass through Lagos State PPRO. It is better if you try calling him. It is not the duty of my office to give you that information,” Oladele told our correspondent via phone call.
Calls made to Hundeyin were not answered, and messages sent to him were yet to be replied to at the time of filing this report.

PROPHET SENTENCED TO 7 YEARS FOR DEFRA¥DING CHURCH MEMBER OF N59.7 MILLION

An Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos has sentenced a Lagos-based prophet, Cletus Ilongwo, to seven years imprisonment for defrauding his church member of N59.7 million.

Ilongwo, the Presiding Pastor of the Power of the Holy Ghost Evangelical Ministry, was found guilty of seven counts charges bordering on fra¥d and ste@ling.

Delivering judgment, Justice Sherifat Solebo ordered the forfeiture of the convict’s property situated at No. 3 Popoola Ajayi St., Diamond Estate in Amuwo Odofin, to the complainant. “His Toyota Prado is also to be forfeited to the Federal Government as restitution to settle the complainant,” Solebo said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) submitted that the convict on January 29, 2016, defra¥ded a former member of his congregation, one Mr Obinna Ezenwaka. EFCC counsel, Nwandu Ukoha, told the court that Ilongwo collected the sum in tranches through his Zenith Bank account 1003*******.

Ukoha said that the convict received the amount from Ezenwaka on different occasions in 2016 on the pretext of helping him to purchase a property located at 165c Diamond Estate, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. The defence counsel, Mr Albert Imolodia, in his allocutus, informed the court that the convict was a first-time offender.”He is a family man who has people that rely on him for their survival. We pray the court to temper justice with mercy,” Imolodia said.

The EFCC counsel, however, urged the court to give the convict the maximum sentence as required by law and a restitution order in line with the Advance Fee Fraud Act.
