ALWAYS apply and reapply your sunscreen after applying an exfoliant during the day.
However it’s best used in your night time routine.
Do not apply an exfoliant everyday. Doing this can damage your skin barrier leading to breakouts, redness, sensitized skin and others.
Start out with a very low percent and use once weekly. Then adjust as you see fit. But do not apply more than thrice in a week.
There are varieties of exfoliants. Use the one that best suites your skin type.

Yes it is!
Go for an exfoliant that is suitable for your skin type, there are AHAs, BHAs & PHAs. Start with a low percent.
Got a very sensitive skin ? Try PHAs.
NB: DO NOT EXFOLIATE EVERYDAY! Start with once a week but do not exceed thrice a week at most.
