A woman who claims that a Premier League footballer r @ ped her yesterday admitted she felt ' pressured ' by police to press charges.

She said she had not initially considered her encounter with Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy , 28 , to be r @ pe and told officers she didn't want to get involved in the case.

The woman , aged 22 , is one of three who claim the French international r***d them at a two - day pool party at his £ 4.8million mansion in Prestbury , Cheshire , last summer.

Testifying from behind a screen , she told Chester Crown Court that she was contacted by officers five months later and felt like she was ' being dragged into the situation ' and it was the police who first called what happened to her ' r @ pe.

The footballer allegedly forced himself on her during a '20 -second ' attack , which left her feeling ' dirty and ashamed ' . She told the court : ' I felt the word r @ pe meant like a stranger or in an alleyway . But he was my friend and it was his house.

She added : ' It was not any different to what I had experienced before . I felt there was pressure on me but boys can be quite pressuring.

She accepted that before giving her police interview she had Googled : ' How much is Benjamin Mendy worth ? ' and that she kept in touch with him on social media following the alleged r**e.

She also agreed that there was a group of people , including some of the alleged victims , known as ' the Manchester circle ' in the city's clubs.

She claimed that after Mendy's arrest , his co - accused and alleged ' fixer ' , Louis Saha Matturie , 41 , messaged her : ' Ben's done a lot of crazy stuff.

Mendy denies eight counts of r**e , one of attempted r**e and one of s3xual assault . Saha , of Eccles , Greater Manchester , denies eight r**es and four s*x assaults .

Primate Elijah Ayodele has predicted that the economic situation of Nigeria will get worse , to the point where fuel would sell for N250 per litre , and pure water will sell for N50.

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church warned that the rate of inflation would rise astronomically.

He said five litres of groundnut oil would sell for N5,000 , a measure of Garri would sell for N1,500 , and cement would sell between N5,500 to N6,000.

In a statement signed by his spokesman , Oluwatosin Osho , Ayodele said the situation in the country was getting to a point where the police and Army would go on strike because the government would not be able to pay their salaries.

He said : " Our economy is in serious shambles ; it will get to a point where the police and Army will go on strike because of payment.

There will be inflation in the country , and pure water will sell for N50 , local rice will sell for N30,000 , five litres of groundnut oil will sell for N5,000 , there will be no N200 bread , Congo of garri will sell for N1500 , with N1,000 you won't be able to feed yourself , cement will sell between N5,500 - N6,000 , minerals will sell for N200 , Petrol is still going to N250 / Litre.

Nothing is coming out of this government anymore ; it is confusing and will affect the rich and poor , and even banks will fold up and forcefully retire some of their staffers . With this economy , hard times await private sectors, multimedia companies will began to shut down.

The United States Attorney's Office for Central District California , Los Angeles , says the September 21 , 2022 sentence date for alleged international Internet fraudster , Ramon Abbas , aka , Hushpuppi , remains unchanged.

The court's Director of Media Relations , Thom Mrozek , made this known on Friday , August 26 , in response to an email inquiry by Channels Television.

The sentencing was initially scheduled for February 14 but it was moved to July 11 before it was again postponed for September 21 this year .

The Kebbi State Police command has arrested a 30 - year - old woman , Farida Abubakar , in connection with the murd £ r of her estranged husband , Attahiru Ibrahim Zagga.

Spokesperson of the command , SP Nafiu Abubakar , who disclosed this in a statement on Friday , August 26 , said Ibrahim , a Magistrate judge with Kebbi State judiciary , was st @ bbed to death in his Birnin Kebbi house on Thursday night.

On 25/8/2022 at about 2140hrs , Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters , Gwadangaji , received an information that , a suspected strange noise was heard from the house of a neighbor , one Attahiru Ibrahim ' M ' of Alieru Quarters , Birnin Kebbi , and his gate was also locked , " the statement read.

On receipt of the information , a team of Policemen were swiftly mobilized to the scene and forced themselves into the house where they found the said Attahiru Ibrahim lying down in pool of his own blood and was later confirmed dead by a medical Doctor.

Similarly , his estranged wife , one Farida Abubakar ' F ' aged 30yrs was also seen inside the compound . Hence , she was suspected and arrested in connection with the case.

" Consequently , the Commissioner of Police , Kebbi State Command , CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora had directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID , Birnin Kebbi , for discreet investigation with a view to unravel the circumstances surrounding the ugly incident " , he added.

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested three women for alleged conspiracy , trafficking of newborn twins and murder of the babies ' mother.

The suspects , Ukorie Cynthia , Onyia Pauline , and Aroh ljeoma , were arraigned in court and remanded in Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre . Spokesperson of the command , DSP Daniel Ndukwe , who disclosed this in a statement on Friday , August 26 , said the suspects conspired and sold the newborn twins for N3m and gave the mother , Chinenye Odoh , the sum of N1.8m.

According to the PPRO , when she discovered that her babies were sold for N3m , contrary to the amount ( N2,350,000.00 ) she was told , Odoh demanded for the balance . The prime suspect , Ukorie Cynthia allegedly gave Odoh suspected poisoned corn leading to her death.

Following the consolidation and conclusion of investigations into a case of conspiracy , children trafficking and murder , the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department of Enugu State Police Command has today , 26/08/2022 , arraigned in court , one Ukorie Cynthia aged 25 , Onyia Pauline aged 56 and Aroh Ijeoma aged 39 , all residing in Enugu , " he statement read.

" The suspects , who were arrested on 26/07/2022 , by Police Operatives serving in Central Police Station ( CPS ) Enugu , were remanded in Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre , pending further hearing of the case Their arrest was sequel to the receipt of a report alleging that they conspired and sold the newborn twins of one Chinenye Odoh aged 31 , and thereafter caused her death by poisoning her food , when she realized that the suspects gave her an amount lesser than the total sum they sold the babies.

Investigations revealed that Ukorie Cynthia accommodated the deceased in her house till she put to birth on 05/07/2022 , while Aroh Ijeoma facilitated the sale of the babies by contacting Onyia Pauline , a Nurse , who brought a couple that bought the babies upon their birth at the sum of three million naira ( N3,000,000.00 )

That contrary to this sum , ljeoma informed the deceased and mother of the babies , Chinenye , that the children were sold for two million , three hundred and fifty thousand naira.

A 17 - year - old girl who left her home in Lagos to run errands ' found herself in Bauchi after entering a taxi.

The Bauchi State police Command PRO SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil Anipr released a statement with the aim of informing the girl's family of her whereabouts.

The girl , identified as Mildred Joshua Ebuka , of Block 19 Ubandale street Victoria Island Lagos State , left home on Thursday , August 25 , 2022 , to deliver a wig cap to her aunty's friend in Ikorodu.

On the way , she stopped a taxi bus not far from her home , from thereon she found herself in Bauchi , the statement reads. Mildred was wearing a light blue blouse and trousers when she was found.

The Bauchi Police have urged members of the public who know her parents to report at the nearest Police Station or contact the following numbers ; 08034844393 , or 08023684497.

A suspected informant to bandits who disguised as a woman has been arrested in Katsina State.

According to one Umar Abduladi Jibia , the suspect was nabbed at the Katsina State Transport Authority ( KSTA ) station in Jibia Local Government Area on Friday , August 26.

This is coming a day after bandits blocked the Katsina - Jibia Road and kidnapped a yet - to - be specified number of passengers , killing one .
