Kindness Is Calling with Zinny

I help people not for who they are or what they can give back, but because kindness is who I am.

I told my niece I haven’t bought the fan I planned to get because I’ve been using my money to help people in need. She said I’m pleasing others more than myself and should put myself first, buy the fan and stay comfortable.

I replied, “The fan will only keep me cool, but there are people out there hungry. Have you ever heard of someone dying from heat? But hunger kills. I’d rather use that money to help someone eat than to buy the fan.”

She said, “That’s you. If it were me, I’d put myself first.”

I told her, “Yes , that’s you. But I put people first. I live for others, not just myself.”

Today, I witnessed something that truly broke me. A young man, tired and vulnerable, was asking people for just a little help to contact his friends so he could get home. Most walked past. Nobody stopped.

I couldn’t ignore him. I booked an Uber to help him get home. I don’t know exactly what happened after, but I know I tried, and that small act mattered.

This reminded me how important it is to notice the struggles of others. Sometimes, a simple act of kindness , offering a hand, sharing a moment, helping someone in need, can make all the difference.

Let’s choose to care. Let’s choose to act. Even when it’s inconvenient. Even when it costs nothing. Because for someone in need, it can mean everything.

What I saw today, really broke me down! In this part of the world people are just about themselves, maybe they loved ones. No body cares about what others are going through. Today, witness a guy that was begging people to just on their data so he could contact his friends to take him home and no body was willing to help him. It really broke me down. Okay let’s assume you’re be careful because of your safety! What happened to booking uber for him to get home?

People sometimes say I’m running a philanthropy or call me a philanthropist. Honestly, that’s not the case. There’s no organization, no business, just me, doing what I love. For some reason, people see it as something bigger, but the truth is simple: I find joy in helping others. I love seeing smiles light up faces, knowing I could make someone’s day a little brighter. That’s all it is. No grand title, no big project, just happiness in giving.

With the way I give and help people, you’d think money would run from me. But it can’t, because I don’t live for myself alone, I live for others. That’s why funds have no choice but to stay with me. I’m also walking in obedience to the Lord’s instructions in the Bible, and that’s a guarantee money can’t ignore.
