The second painting in the Epiphany series titled "Of the rocks" is highly reflective of a process of spiritual formation and rebirth. The free-spirited one has now awoken to a higher calling- the heightened senses and deep knowing proves there is more to her purpose. Though one may not know entirely, but an affirmative response to a divine call is the very first important step to re-discovering what role one must play in relation to the universe.
So she, just like you, may be "of the rocks", being formed and nursed in a spiritual birthplace where the Heavens, the stars and earth align.

A lil throwback to the process of creating this piece👩🏽🎨 What surprised me was the fact that my initial intentions lost its grip on me😄 (I've learnt to surrender my will to what must be created) While journeying on the canvas on the wheels of each brush-stroke, I soon discovered that I had taken another path. What I intended to portray as plants and flowers became rocks 😯 Infact, what should've been a garden emerged as a rocky platform resembling the base of where a volcanic experience could occur😶 Coincidentally, someone witnessing my process in person said to me "this fiery lady looks like she's stepping out of an otherworldly place where molten magma forms. She looks like she's one with the rocks" 🤔 How interesting...

This is the first work in the Epiphany series 🍁

I realized that the life of a creative seems different from the usual. You can imagine the heightened curiosity, recurring experiments, quest for new adventures, escapades, mental wandering; it feels like we're bored of the ordinary. Sometimes, the world feels too toxic so we create our own 😄 and decide to share to someone who understands❤ You're that someone🙃 You're welcome here 🌹
I am free-spirited; I love delving deep in my curiosity, thirst for knowledge, self awareness, inner peace, joy, love, solace in the palms of nature, comfort in the sounds of leaves rustling and birds chirping, conversations with the transcendental; and most importantly, freedom to be who I am and radiate my creative flames💫

The three things these flames represent are expounded here:
1. The passion and internal energy residing in a highly creative soul: It is this fire that preserves the urge to always create and explore possibilities; a repining restlessness that stretches us and unfortunately sometimes, lead to burn out or blocks. Herein lies the duality of working and resting; with questions like "Am I doing too much or I'm doing way less?". This fiery passion can be as beautiful as it is destructive.
2. Transformation and rebirth through spiritual enlightenment: Fire destroys but it also leaves behind ashes to let new things grow. When one comes in contact with spiritual truths, a rebirth inwardly begins. It is like you're the raw gold going through a furnace of transformation for the refined and purified you. Here, the duality of dying and living daily exists.
3. The very nature of God we're transmuted into: Fire and light has been closely associated with divinity. It is this light we are to fully embrace till it gets intensified within us, so that we'll be able to reflect it seamlessly to our world which lies in darkness.

Of Earth and Spirit Exhibition has been mind-blowing so far🤍 I love how this event is so art-ful 😍 combining not just visual art alone, but music and other creative performances. One thing particularly striking about this exhibition is the theme, which leads us to exploring transcendental knowledge hidden from many🍁 The conversations have been eye opening and they kinda remind us of who we truly are as humans, life's spiritual relevance and the reasons for human behaviours🌸 I'm glad to be a part of this 🥰 If you're in Lagos, it'll be great to attend. The event still runs till Saturday.
I also want to invite you to come watch me perform a spoken word at the exhibition on Saturday, the Grand Finale💃🏽 See you there! 💐💐💐

On the sketchpad series, page 4 ✏🖼 This one is a little different from the last few posts, right? I believe it brings more peace, less struggle, more calmness and less turmoil💖 Yeah, that's how it feels when you're in that safe space, a warm embrace and peaceful silence that freezes time for a moment 🌟
