Treasure Chidinma Arts

Of Earth and Spirit Exhibition has been mind-blowing so far🤍 I love how this event is so art-ful 😍 combining not just visual art alone, but music and other creative performances. One thing particularly striking about this exhibition is the theme, which leads us to exploring transcendental knowledge hidden from many🍁 The conversations have been eye opening and they kinda remind us of who we truly are as humans, life's spiritual relevance and the reasons for human behaviours🌸 I'm glad to be a part of this 🥰 If you're in Lagos, it'll be great to attend. The event still runs till Saturday.

On the fifth page, I made this piece that expressed a vital part of my 2025 experience. Can you relate to having your expectations burden your head and weigh you down as you try to climb the stairs of life's stages? For me, it seemed basically impossible to carry that heavy weight while climbing simultaneously without a divine help- the hand of God from above. As we've entered into this new beautiful year, I'm really grateful for that miraculous hand from above that helped me survive the mental pressure of last year 💝 and I also want to let you know that sometimes, you can't really do it on your own, don't be scared to seek divine help.

Since the past few days, I've been touching some grass by doing random stuff on my new sketchpad ✏ Initially, my intention was to make quick sketches; but I became dissatisfied because there was no hint of colour on the paper🥴, so I grabbed my pastel pencils. I've filled a lot of pages already🗒 this is even a late post 😅 I just thought to share, so I'll be posting them here. They are 100% imaginative compositions expressing my turbulent mind...

Can you feel the heat?! 🥵 Geez! I just realized that I never put out this work on this space 😐 This was one of my favorite paintings so far and I'm glad to share it to you 🤗🤭

Sometimes, portrait study could be quite interesting😃 At other times, they could be somewhat frustrating or even confusing 😪 These are quick shots of some of my practices this year 🙈 While I felt it would be more pleasing to paint some 🖌others seemed to be best done as sketches ✏ However, those sketches were mainly moved by impulse. I didn't plan to do something, yunno,...spectacular 😅 I just saw them do their thing and was like "hmmmmn where my sketch pad at?" 😃 So far, I've noticed they pose better when they're an unaware model 🥲 Once u tell them, "hey I wanna draw or paint ya, please pose for me", then, they'll shake a hundred times, twist and turn, some laugh, smile and frown, some get so nervous and uncomfortable, etc. Well,...😅😅😅 in some cases, I give up

In the spirit of International Women's Day Celebration, I just thought to drop this post 💝
Recently, I picked interest in the study of plus sized female anatomy 💆🏽‍♀🤎 As my charcoal pencil scribbled against my sketchpad, each skin fold felt quite fascinating. As the strokes moved, the contours of the flesh seemed to have a tale of strength and courage 💪🏽
We have been deceived to believe in false beauty standards to the extent that the appreciation of the female body seems quite biased. It is naturally established that our women will physically metamorphose during the journey of time, growth and motherhood 🌀
My study on plus sized women is not to encourage obesity but to appreciate the contours of flesh folds that appear due to motherhood. After all, what is the greatest height of femininity? The highest peak of femalehood? It is not in the stipulated s*x appeal or hourglass figure, but in the bringing forth of a new life through portals of creation💖 and the courage to sacrifice for Love 🤍
