The Two Seeds”

Two seeds lay side by side in the soil.

The first seed said, “I want to grow! I want to push my roots deep into the earth and stretch my sprouts toward the sun. I want to feel the warmth of spring and the blessing of rain. I want to see the world.”
And so, she grew. She broke through the soil, bathed in sunlight, and danced with the wind.

The second seed said, “I’m afraid. If I send out my roots, they might be crushed. If I try to push my way through the soil, I might damage my delicate shoots. And what if the sun burns me, or the rain washes me away? No, it’s safer to stay here.”
And so, she remained in the ground hidden, safe, and still.

One day, a hungry bird came, scratching in the soil for food. Finding the second seed, he ate it.

Life is full of risks. But staying buried forever is the greatest risk of all.
