Menstrual Cups: Study Finds They're Safe To Use — And People Like Them!

A menstrual cup is designed to collect menstrual blood.

It's a bell-shaped container, made of silicone, latex or rubber.

Like a tampon, it's inserted into the va**na when people have their period. But instead of absorbing menstrual flow with cotton, the cup collects the flow in its receptacle, which stays in place around the cervix.

It can be used for up to 12 hours before being emptied.

Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field.
