When we talk about focus and distraction, our minds naturally go to the youth.

But I’ve come to realize that focus is not only for the young. It is even more critical for the elderly.

Focus matters for the youth because destiny lies ahead of them. But it also matters for the elderly because they are wrapping up their time on earth.

At that stage, achievement is what truly counts.

Fulfillment only comes when a person can say, like Jesus did, “It is finished.”
Until you can say “It is finished,” you still need focus, because there is still ground to cover.

When Joshua was nearing the end of his life, the Lord told him, “The land before you is still very vast.” This was a man who had already conquered 31 kingdoms, yet God said there was still much to do.

That tells us something powerful: as we approach the end, the urgency does not reduce. It increases.

So let us use our time wisely now, so that we will not live under pressure later.
