How is malaria transmitted?
Malaria is transmitted by infected mosquitoes. When a person gets bitten by a mosquito which carries the malaria parasite, the parasite enters the bloodstream. It is then carried to the liver, where it multiplies.
If a mosquito bites a person with malaria, it will get infected and it can then transmit the parasite to the next person it bites.
In order to prevent catching the disease, one need to avoid insect bites and take antimalarial tablets
Can malaria be contacted from another person?
Malaria is not contagious and one can’t catch it from physical contact with someone who has it. The malaria parasite is not in an infected person’s saliva and it is not passed on from one person to another.
The only way one can catch malaria from a person is through blood transfusions or organ transplants. It is also possible for mothers to pass the parasite on to their baby during childbirth.
Can someone get malaria more than once?
One can get malaria more than once. Even if someone has had the disease in the past, the person still need to take precautions.
People who grow up in a risk area do develop some level of immunity and they are less likely to contract malaria as they grow older. The majority of malaria cases and fatalities occur in children, who are particularly at risk.
It is very common for people who have spent their childhood in a region where malaria is prevalent to believe that they are immune and that they do not need to protect themselves when they go back to visit, this is incorrect. Malaria can be very dangerous and it is important that one protects himself / herself.
How does malaria spread?
Malaria spreads via mosquitoes. The only mosquito which can transmit the parasite is the anopheles mosquito. It feeds approximately every seven days and it carries the malaria parasite if it has previously bitten someone who had malaria.
Mosquitoes act as a carrier for the parasite and they are responsible for spreading the malaria parasite.. Therefore, mosquito bite avoidance is an important part of one prophylaxis.

A baby born after a miscarriage, or loss of a baby, is referred to as a Rainbow baby.
❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙💜
Today we remember all babies born sleeping, the ones we've carried but never met, those we've held but couldn't take home, the ones that came home but didn't stay.
❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙💜
Make this your status if you or someone you know has suffered the loss of a baby. The majority won't do it, because miscarriage, still birth and SIDs is still a taboo subject.

Maybe if people's heads weren't buried in the sand of ignorance and they took the time to understand, instead of judging and thinking it won't happen to them because they have the perfect family, life would be a little bit easier for people that do experience this!
This hits close to home for me, for family and friends who live under this shadow. The days of 'it' not being talked about or being taboo should be over. In the most difficult moments of life you realize who your true friends are, and the people who really appreciate you.
Unfortunately, most social media 'friends' aren't true friends. They will send you a "like" here and there, but in reality they do not take time to read your status if they see it's lengthy.
More than half will stop reading right here, or have already scrolled on to the next post on their page.
I decided to post this message in support of all those who continue to battle with their mental illnesses. (Su***de is at an all time high). Now, let's see who will have taken the time to read this lengthy post right through to the end. If you have read everything so far, please "like" it so that I can put a thank you on your page.
More mental health awareness is urgently needed. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean people aren't suffering.
Please, try to spare a little of your time with someone who may just want to talk (about anything).
Talking can help us all to cope a little more, keeping things bottled up just makes it worse.
Most people will say, "if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, I'll be there to help you" but will they?
I believe a select few of my friends will post this, to show their support for those who may be struggling. You just have to copy and paste rather than sharing. I'd like to know who will take a minute out of their day to read this all the way to the end and then copy and paste it to their pages, will you?
If so, please write "done" in the comments.
Thank you! The water and Refreshing products are in the fridge or I can make coffee, and my door/line is open if you want to talk.

Hi, good day!! Hope you are doing great!?
NB The topic today is for adults. You can help someone.
Irregular, Missing or Light Period?
The frustration is real, I hear you and it's usually means you are not ovulating properly.
Ovulation is essential for a healthy hormone cycle, without ovulation it means progesterone is not being produced and progesterone is the hormone that encourages the build up and release of the uterine lining (bleeding aka your period)
So we want to encourage your body to ovulate!
How do you do this?
Firstly, by getting to the root cause of why you may not be ovulating in the first place.
Some common root cause to consider are:
Stress and Poor sleep
Stress prompts hormones to delay ovulation and you need quality sleep for proper hormone production.
It's sad to see many of our ladies who desire to boost ovulation are still awake by 12- 1 am 😱
Your Thyroid
More specifically hypothyroidism as it robs your ovaries of cellular energy to ovulate.
Cysts on ovaries (PCOS)
Celiac disease
Many are unaware they have celiac and therefore unaware of it's link to missing periods.
Once gluten free diet is adopted menstruation usually return naturally
Coming off contraception
Your body has to learn how to make your hormones again and can take some women even a few years to get a cycle regularly back. Time and patience is key.
Over exercising and being underweight
Your body believes it's in a starvation state. So the body begins to shut down organs that are not essential for survival.
Possible deficiency in Iron, Zinc, Magnesium can cause irregularity.
Please don't go on pills to regulate your periods because it's not regulating your periods, it's actually switching your cycle off all together.
And please don't underestimate the power of healthy food and lifestyle in regulating your cycle.
Enjoy the rest of your day

Surprising Effects of Lack of Sleep ( Part 2 ).
Sleeplessness Is Depressing
Over time. Lack of sleep and sleep disorders can contribute to the symptoms of depression. The most common sleep disorder is insomnia and it has the strongest link to depression in people. Those with insomnia are five times more likely to develop depression as those without. In fact, insomnia is often one of the first symptoms of depression
Losing Sleep Can Make You Gain Weight:
Lack of sleep seems to be related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity. People who sleep less than six hours a day are almost 30 percent more likely to become obese than those who slept seven to nine hours.
Not only does sleep loss appear to stimulate appetite, it also stimulates cravings for high-fat, high-carbohydrate foods.
Lack of Sleep Kills S*x Drive:
Sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in s*x. Depleted energy, sleepiness, and increased tension may be largely to blame.
For men with sleep apnea, a respiratory problem that interrupts sleep, that may be another factor in the s*xual slump.
Studies show that many men with sleep apnea also have low testosterone levels. In the study, nearly half of the men who suffered from severe sleep apnea also secreted abnormally low levels of testosterone during the night.
