Hair Salon 101: Business Name Generator for Salons
Why It Matters
Just like every other business, your salon name is your first impression. And a unique name makes you memorable and searchable online.
If your name is too common, you risk brand confusion or even legal issues.
How to Use a Business Name Generator (Step by Step)
- Think of 3-5 keywords related to your salon (e.g., natural, curls, glow, beauty, luxe).
- Go to a free business name generator (Shopify, Namelix, etc.).
- Plug in your keywords.
- Browse options until you find one thatâs unique and reflects your brand vibe.
Check availability:
- CAC search (Nigeria) â to ensure itâs not taken.
- Google search â to avoid duplicate salons.
- Social media handles â for brand consistency.
- Domain name (optional but powerful).
Example of how to confirm names for Natural Hair Salons are:
- Keywords: Curls, Glow, Natural, Studio
- Generator Suggestion: CurlGlow Studio
- Availability: â
Free on CAC, â
Instagram handle free, â
.com available
Result: A brand-ready name that sets you apart.
Toyibat O. Jenmi
Note:
đ Donât rush naming. Your salon name is your brand identity.
Pair it with CAC registration + Trademark to lock it down legally. This means:
- No one else can copy you.
- Clients see you as professional and trustworthy.

As a Youth Corp Member who has watched her peers severely grumble "I'm broke" a few days after alawee drops.
I realised how much of an epidemic this 'broke' mindset has become amongst us the youth.
The funny thing is, many are doing all they can to make more for themselves but honestly, life has a way of saying "Hold my cup while I frustrate your efforts".
Has a Corp member who has served her peers in several capacities while in service, I know I can do more with the little knowledge I have and help myself and others build something sustainable to pull us off the claws of "I never chop"
This is for those who genuinely need it and are willing to put in the work.
Join me this month of October, let's start this brand-building journey together.

How To Get Your TIN Before January 2026
For Individuals:
Go online via the JTB TIN Registration Portal or walk into the nearest FIRS office.
Toyibat O. Jenmi
Carry: NIN slip/ID card, utility bill, and one passport photo.
Fill out a form â request an individual TIN (itâs FREE).
Collect your printout â take it to your bank â update your account. Done.
For Businesses:
â You need a business TIN (different from your personal one).
â Carry your CAC certificate to FIRS.
đ Picture this:
You need to restock your salon products. So you go to the bank to make the transaction, or you open your bank app to pay for your goods, and what you are seeing or hearing is: âSorry, no TIN, no transaction.â
I'm certain you know what that translates tođ.
Toyibat O. Jenmi
Toh! A word is enough for the wise.
This isnât about rich vs. poor. Itâs about everyone with money in the bank.
2026 is almost here, and you shouldn't let it catch you unfresh.
We all know how things are with rush hour in Nigeria. Don't be a victim!!!
Dear salon owner. Donât wait until January. Get your personal and business TIN now!

Tax Reform and what it means for you as an Individual and/or Business owner.
2026; Operation No TIN, No Money...
From January 1, 2026, in Nigeria, everyone's financial situation will change. Either for good or bad, that will be determined by us the individuals. Here is what I mean:
â No bank account without TIN (Tax Identification Number).
â No business operation without TIN.
â No financial service without TIN.
â Even stockbrokers will ask for TIN.
It doesnât matter if youâre:
â A market woman running a personal account đ
â A student hustling on the side đ
â A civil servant đź
â A âsharp guyâ or Yahoo boy đ
â A small business owner đŠđ˝âđŚą
â Or even a foreigner living here đ
If you donât have a tax ID, your financial life will be under LOCK and KEY.
And no - this is not a rumour. Itâs the law.
What does the government want to achieve with this?
Toyibat O. Jenmi
- To track cash flow: Many unrecorded transactions are flowing, and they want to put a name and face to who earns what.
- To increase the tax net: Less than 10% of Nigerians pay tax. That is definitely coming to an end.
- To track transactions: Every account, transfer, and business deal will now be tied to your TIN. You will have no hiding place.
So, best believe that if this is implemented as it should be. Hmmm...Gobeđśđľ
If you didn't deduce it from the beginning of my write-up. I'm telling you plainly now that TIN will be your new master identity. Not BVN or NIN. TIN will be the real deal.
And trust me, Banks wonât announce it loudly.
Toyibat O. Jenmi
You will just wake up one morning trying to make a transaction, and what you will see is: random morning, youâll just open your will see is: âService Unavailable â Provide TIN.â
Again!
Itâs not just for companies. EVERY Nigerian with a bank account must have one.
Government wants control and financial sanity in the country, and they are taking it through TIN regulation.
Want to know how to get your own TIN without having to pay anyone for it? Wait for my next post.

Come forward, Salon Owners, letâs Be Real for a MinuteâŚ
Running a salon is one of the most rewarding jobs. You get to transform people, boost their confidence, and make them walk out smiling. That is one heck of a superpowerđ¤đŞđź.
But behind the smiles, stylist to stylist. Salon owner to salon owner - I know the real hustle.
Some days, it feels like youâre balancing 10 things at once:
Toyibat O. Jenmi
đ Staff Management: Training, lateness, attitude, and even staff leaving with clients.
đ Supplies & Products: One week your supplier is reliable, the next week they ghost you.
đ Client Retention: They try your service once, then disappear to âtest another stylist.â
đ Business Side: Registration, taxes, and bank accounts - it feels overwhelming but necessary.
đ Pricing & Competition: Clients want quality but also ask, âMadam, reduce am small now.â
Toyibat O. Jenmi
The truth is, every salon has challenges - big or small. But sometimes, just sharing them opens the door to better solutions.
So let me ask you honestlyâŚ
Whatâs YOUR biggest salon challenge right now?
Drop it in the comments đ
You never know. Another salon owner (or even me đ) might just share the tip that makes your journey easier.
One thing is clear: we rise stronger when we learn from each other. đ

Having a Business Bank account can boost your salon's sales. Here's howđđ˝
Letâs be real. As a salon business owner, mixing your salon money with personal money can get messy fast. đ
Before you know it, business money is mistaken as personal moneyđ
Thatâs where a business bank account comes in. Itâs not just âformalityâ⌠itâs a game-changer for your salon business.
1. Professionalism: Clients (and even suppliers) take you more seriously when payments go to a salon account, not âMiss Toyibatâs Savings.â đ
2. Better Money Tracking: Youâll finally know whatâs truly profit and whatâs just expenses. No more confusion. đ
3. Access to Loans/Grants: Banks and funding bodies look at your business account history before giving financial support. Your salon canât grow if it looks âinformal.â
Toyibat O. Jenmi
4. Easy Tax & CAC Compliance â When youâre ready for the big leagues, clean records make everything smoother. â
5. Separates YOU from your salon â This is big. Your salon stands as its own business, not just a side hustle.
Bottom line: Opening a business account isnât about today. Itâs about building a salon that lasts.
Question for you: Do you already use a business bank account for your salon, or are you still running everything through your personal account? đ
Talk to me in the comments. Let's change that if we have to đ

Client Care 101; Do you do scalp analysis?
That one question could be the difference between an ordinary salon visit and an unforgettable client experience.
Truth be told. A hair salon should not just be about hair aesthetics but also about overall hair health. Only then will you establish your stand as a master of your craft.
Hereâs why:
Most clients donât just want beautiful hair on the outside - they want lasting health from the scalp down. And the truth is, many hair issues (like dandruff, thinning, or dryness) start at the scalp before showing in the hair.
Offering scalp analysis in your salon means youâre not just stylingâŚ
- Youâre educating.
- Youâre guiding.
- Youâre helping clients understand their hair on a deeper level.
The benefits?
⨠Clients trust you more because you see what they canât.
⨠You stand out as a professional, not just 'one more salon.'
⨠You open the door for recommending the right products/treatments - which grows your business too.
Toyibat O. Jenmi
So hereâs the real deal:
When a client hears âLetâs start with your scalp healthâ before you even pick up a comb, they immediately feel cared for. Thatâs loyalty in action. You just etched your brand into their heart and mind.
So let me ask youâŚ
Do you do scalp analysis in your salon, or is it a service youâd love to introduce soon? Let me know in the comments belowđđ˝
