House Antitrust Subcommittee Chair David Cicilline said the acquisition announcement has triggered more antitrust concerns as the tech giant's "dominance" is already being investigated. "This proposed transaction ... deserves an immediate and thorough investigation," he said.β

Still, if the deal does pass muster, it could mean Google Fit integration with Fitbit devices, or a slew of "Made by Google" wearable devices designed by fitbits team coming to market after 2020. β
