It’s about building memories, laughing until your stomach hurts, going on dates, taking random trips, and enjoying each other.
Children are a blessing, but when they come, responsibilities grow. Don’t forget to enjoy your love story first.”

Things I’ll never do “IF” I get married.

Mind you, I said “IF” because I’m not sure I would get married yet, but here are some certain things I won’t do.

1. I won’t go to any family house and stay there for weeks or months for the family to know who I am, or like me. I won’t do that shiiiittttt…. I’m not staying with anybody’s family.

2. I’m not going to cook in any family event. I’m a WIFE, not a caterer. If the family can’t hire caterers, the rest wives can go. I’m not going for any form of labor. I don’t care how the family would see me, I’m not going to be bonding over labor.

3. I’m not going to be washing anybody’s clothes. I sincerely in all honesty detest washing clothes. The least I can do is hire someone to wash the clothes. I have a woman who comes to my house to clean and wash my clothes every week. If my husband is not going to be accepting that, he should be washing his clothes by himself.

4. I’m not going to be covering up for any man. If my husband does anything, and I’m not comfortable with it, I’m not going to be staying under the concept of him changing. I’m not going to be praying for anybody to change! If he cheats on me, I’m really not going to be cracking jokes about it, I’m 💯 leaving else I’ll t0rm£nt him with the fact he cheated. If he mistakenly raise his hands on me, I’m 💯 done.

5. I’m not doing 50/50 with any man!!! I don’t believe in 50/50. It’s 100/100 for me! You are putting in all efforts as much as I’m putting in all efforts. I’m not doing “women should be cooking, men should be working”. I’m not doing that shiiiiiiiiii

6. I’m not dedicating any special plates for my husband. We are both eating in same kind of plates! And everybody is eating same time. Nobody is eating first and eating last.

7. The chances of me dropping my surname is 30%. If I really really like the name very well, I might. For now, the least I can do is add my husband’s name to my names, like a third name or something. But completely changing my identity?? No I’m not doing that.

8. I’m not loosing myself for anybody. I’m always going to choose myself and happiness first. I’m always going to do whatever I want first.

9. I’m not going to be cutting off my unmarried friends. Nahhhhh, I’ll keep on being friends with single people, and go out with them.

10. I’m not going to be ditching my career and dreams for anybody. I won’t even get married to a man who will be insecure, to such extent he’ll tell me to stop my career. I’m going to be a wife, a mother and a successful lady in my field. If he doesn’t support, I’m not staying.

I can go on and on. But for now, these are the things I really cannot, and would not do in the name of marriage. Remember, these are my personal choices and if whosoever is interested in me do not agree with all of these, then I’m not going to be getting married.

And yes, I’m not scared of walking out of situations I don’t like. I’m not scared of loneliness.

My POV: 9 and 10 are very important. 8 seems a bit unclear hence what you mean by "what I want" should be emphasised on ....but all the writer said ain't bad. Married folks should not make marriage look like it's a government work that u retire when all hell breaks.
