I found that quite a number of people still struggle with having a consistent skincare routine, more so a routine that births good results.

If you are new to skincare, creating a skincare routine is next step thing to do after finding products that works to treat your concerns and ensuring consistency for best results.

Here’s a basic skincare routine guide to help you;

Cleanser - good cleansing is literally the bedrock of an effective routine.
You want to choose a cleanser that’s gentle, non-drying yet effectively removes dirts, oils & other pollutants from the surface of the skin.
Depending on the formula, some cleansers tend to do more.

Moisturizer - whether you have an oily, dry or combination skin type, the use of a moisturizer is an essential.
It helps to protect the skin’s barrier from irritation besides the many other benefits the skin can enjoy from using the moisturizer of choice.

Protect (Sunscreen) - the importance of this step cannot be overemphasized. It’s an absolute non-negotiable, as exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancers, erythema, skin aging, hyperpigmentation & you also won’t get the best out of the products you use.

Our skin is daily exposed to UV rays whether through direct or diffuse sunlight.
Though there are peak seasons/times and less, it’s advisable to wear a sunscreen throughout seasons as UVA specifically can pe*****te through rain, clouds.
Apply daily (in/outdoor), reapply after 2hrs from previous application

Exfoliate - the process of exfoliating basically works to unclog your pores, free them from debris, excess sebum.
It also sloughs off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and aids skin cell renewal.

I will recommend a chemical exfoliant (especially for the facial skin) but in low strengths 1-2x weekly, then work your way up or not, depending on what your skin can take.
