The State Commander, NDLEA Borno State Command, CN Usman Sule, on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, participated in a War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Radio Advocacy Sensitization Programme held live on Radio Nigeria Peace FM 102.5, Maiduguri.

Speaking alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Internal Security, Borno State, Aminu Chamalwa, and the PPRO, Nigeria Police Force, Borno State Command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the State Commander addressed the topic *“Miyagun Halaye a Jihar Borno: Dalilai, Kalubale da Mafita”* *(Moral Decadence in Borno State: Causes, Challenges and Solutions)*.

The programme provided an opportunity to sensitise the public on the causes and challenges of moral decadence, the dangers of drug abuse, and the need for collective efforts to promote positive values and safer communities.

_Maiduguri, Borno State_ – The Chairman of *Mobbar Local Government Council* paid a productive and crucial courtesy visit to the *State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Usman Sule, CN*, earlier today, *6th July, 2026*.

The primary purpose of the meeting was to formally request the Agency’s enhanced presence and operational support within Mobbar Local Government Area in order to decisively tackle the growing challenge of drug abuse.

During the meeting, the State Commander warmly received the Chairman’s request and gave his firm assurance of the NDLEA’s full support and collaboration with the Council.

Commending the Chairman’s proactive approach, the State Commander noted that such partnerships are vital in safeguarding communities and protecting the youth from the dangers of substance abuse.

This commitment marks a significant step forward in the shared mission to protect our youth, ensure public safety, and foster a healthy, drug-free environment for all residents of Mobbar LGA.

On behalf of the people of Mobbar Local Government Area, the Chairman extended his sincere gratitude to the NDLEA for its dedication and readiness to work with the Council. He expressed confidence that this partnership will yield significant results in curbing drug abuse and its associated ills in the area.

The Chairman further called on all community members, leaders, and stakeholders to join hands with the Local Government and the NDLEA in this fight.

Disclaimer: NDLEA alerts public on fraudulent auction offers impersonating officials

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has drawn attention to a fraudulent scheme orchestrated by criminal elements and scammers targeting unsuspecting members of the public.

The fraudsters have been found using the names of top NDLEA officials, most notably the Secretary to the Agency, Barrister Shadrach Haruna, to issue fake private letters and messages offering cheap forfeited vehicles for sale on auction.

The public is hereby notified that these offers are a complete scam. The Agency wishes to categorically state that these fraudulent offers are a malicious gimmick designed solely to defraud targeted individuals of their hard-earned money.

No official of the Agency has the mandate to privately offer, allocate, or sell forfeited vehicles or any other seized assets to individuals. Vehicles and other assets forfeited as proceeds of drug crimes are strictly auctioned through public processes managed by appointed, government-registered auctioneers. Any legitimate auction exercise is widely publicized in national dailies and through the Agency's official channels, in line with established legal and public procurement guidelines.

Members of the public are strongly urged to discountenance, ignore, and report any such private letters, text messages, or social media offers claiming to originate from Barrister Shadrach Haruna or any other NDLEA official.

The NDLEA remains committed to maintaining transparency and integrity in all its operations. Do not fall victim to these criminal elements. If you are approached with such fraudulent offers, please report immediately to the nearest NDLEA command or via our official communication channels.

NDLEA BORNO STATE COMMAND FLAGS OFF WAR AGAINST DRUG ABUSE (WADA) RADIO SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Borno State Command, will conduct a *War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Radio Advocacy Programme* under the leadership of the State Commander, *CN Usman Sule*.

The Commander also charged communities to take ownership by initiating _“Our Family First”_ self-help initiatives aimed at preventing drug abuse within homes and neighborhoods.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to reducing drug demand and supply in Borno State through sustained advocacy and community partnership.

*NDLEA BORNO COMMAND MARKS 2026 UN WORLD DRUG DAY: “INNOVATIVE RESPONSES TO PERSISTING DRUG CHALLENGES”*

*Maiduguri, 26th June 2026* – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Borno State Command, has called for _“innovative compassion over silence”_ as it joined the world to commemorate the 2026 United Nations International Day Against Illicit Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Speaking at the event, State Commander CN Usman Sule said this year’s UN theme: *“The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses”* demands a scientific, evidence-based approach that prioritizes prevention and treatment.

*Key Highlights from the Commander’s Address:*

1. *Persisting & New Challenges*: The Command noted that while Cannabis, Codeine, Tramadol and Pentazocine remain major threats, new challenges are emerging. Drugs are now marketed via social media, and highly chemicalized variants like “Loud, Arizona, Colorado” and electric Sh**ha are replacing local cannabis.

2. *2025-2026 Operational Scorecard*: From 26th June 2025 to date, the Command recorded:
- *Arrests*: 657 total [630 Male, 27 Female]
- *Counseling Sessions*: 532
- *Rehabilitation Clients*: 93
- *Convictions Secured*: 76, with 86 cases pending
- *Forfeited Assets*: 6 Vehicles
- *Drugs Seized*: 1,038.342 kg
- *Prevention*: 48 drug-free clubs in secondary schools and 6 in tertiary institutions

3. *Innovative Response*: The Commander said the fight must move to homes, schools, and communities. _“It means mothers talking openly with their daughters. It means fathers being present. It means our schools adopting drug testing and counseling with compassion,”_ he stated.

4. *Call to Action*: _“The fight against drug abuse cannot be won by government or security agencies alone. It is won in our homes, schools, mosques, churches, and communities. Let us choose prevention over regret. Let us choose life over drugs,”_ CN Sule said. He also appealed to youths: _“You are more valuable than any high. Your future is brighter than any escape drugs can offer. If you are struggling, please speak up. Help is here. Healing is possible.”_

The Command commended the Borno State Government under Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum for its support.
