Three months ago, I was assigned to a tech company in Ikeja, Lagos, for my Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) as an NYSC corps member. I study Microbiology at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, which has recently been renamed Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, in Benue State, Nigeria. Before embarking on this NYSC journey, I had some knowledge of technology, including HTML, virtual assistance, data analytics, and Python.

Upon my arrival at the company, the Managing Director asked me to join the Digital Marketing team due to my background in Microbiology, which is unrelated to tech. Although I had expressed my interest in pursuing a role that aligned with my knowledge of HTML, data analytics, and Python—particularly in frontend development—the MD insisted that I join the ongoing digital marketing class, even though I had no prior experience in this area.

I obliged and joined the class, which turned out to be a fascinating experience thanks to both the tutor and my fellow students. We covered a wide range of topics, including content calendars, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, mobile marketing, affiliate marketing, blog and article writing, monetization, SEO (off-page, on-page, technical, and local SEO), email marketing, content creation, and business proposal writing.

I developed a passion for SEO and running ads, so after the class, I took it upon myself to enroll in an SEO course through the SemRush platform to deepen my understanding of the subject.

I am proud to celebrate this achievement and would like to extend my gratitude to Neovarsity Africa (Prosperity X) and SemRush for providing such valuable resources, as well as to the Asamu Foundation for offering scholarships that allowed me and others to learn digital marketing for free.

Hi friends, I woke up this morning confused about what to do 🤦🤦🤦🤦 after a long talk with myself I decided to open my laptop to figure things out 🤔🤔🤔🤔 boom! A thought came to my mind to try out my strengths in data analytics with Data Literacy skill verification (Data Storytelling) on DataCamp platform☺️☺️☺️ at first I was furious and scared of the outcome because hmmm is like ages I last visited DataCamp in regards to my tech career in Data Analysis 🤭 there's this popular saying that a day from your books 📚 is like hundred years away from you I believe you understand what I'm trying to say. However, I summoned courage from nowhere & motivated myself that failure is not a sin it is just an attempt, and failure gives rise to success 🤗 with no further hesitation I jumped on the skill challenge ☺️🤭 guess what I got a 108 score & defeated about 60℅ that participated 💃💃 though the targeted score for Data Storytelling is 82 which I got 108 😘😘 moral lessons always believe in yourself & don't be scared of failure.
I'm promising myself henceforth not to rate my strength low anymore but to work harder and improve wherever I'm lagging 😘😘😘😜

Today's journey in Tech was an incredible one I must say. I was privileged to learn and acquire knowledge on how to create content digitally in MS Word, Excel, and many more, using sophisticated tools and features ranging from WordArt, Text Formatting, Headers and Footers, images, graphics, Styles, and Themes, Equations, Save as PDF, Mail Merge, Document Encryption, using of MS word on a mobile device, Use of Tell Me to do Anything in Office, etc.
Although I might have prior knowledge of this but it was shallow, not deep. Moreover, we were also introduced to Microsoft Office, account creation, differences and importance of Office 2016, Office 365, and Office online.
