Factors Beyond A Farmer's Control.
Initially, I thought agriculture was to put seed in the ground.
Give it some care.
Food on the plate.

But agriculture is far beyond that.

I checked the weather forecast and it says 5pm
I did everything by the book.

Why am still spraying my pesticide, then came the rain heavily on my crop at about 8-9am and I watched my pesticide waste away.
Money, effort, time... gone.

Because in farming, there are factors beyond one’s control.

We didn't give up, two days after, we went back to spray again.

The weather doesn’t ask you.
The market doesn’t care.
Pests don’t send notice.

Farming is not just about food.
It’s about faith when the forecast fails you.
It’s about resilience when your inputs wash away like mine
It’s about planting again when your seed fails to germinate

To every farmer who lost to weather this season: I see you. We keep going 💚

My Kitchen Garden Just Paid Me Back 😍
I harvested my first waterleaf today.

I started some weeks ago and I almost delayed it.

Imagine if you started with me — you’d be harvesting and even selling now.
But hey, it’s not too late for you.

You don’t need a big farm.
You need soil, and water to start and a few containers like mine, if you don't have much space.

Fresh greens for my pot today.
Profit for my pocket tomorrow.

No space, no problem.
You are safer when you are involved.

Utilize that space of yours, don't create room for wastage

The Difference Is Clear. And It’s Painful To See 😔

Some weeks ago I was applying fertilizer to my maize.
Halfway through, my fertilizer finished and a small portion of the farm didn’t get any.

When I went for supervision.
Same soil. Same planting date. Same rain.
But that small portion without fertilizer?
Short, Yellowish and Stunted.

The part that got fertilizer?
Green. Tall. Strong.

This is why fertilizer matters.

Soil gets tired too. After every planting, nutrients leave the soil.
If we don’t replace them, the crop will cry out loud.

The production level at the end will definitely NOT be the same.

We work hard, let’s also feed the soil that feeds us.
Because hunger in the soil = hunger on the table.
