A dad was packed, ready, and excited for his international trip when everything fell apart in the funniest and most heartbreaking way. Right before leaving for the airport, he opened his passport and froze. His young son had proudly decorated his passport photo with scribbles, smiley faces, and bold little lines across his eyes.

To a child, it was just art. To airport security, it was a completely invalid passport. Officials told him he could not fly because the altered photo no longer matched his identity. The trip was cancelled on the spot, and the dad had to head back home instead of boarding the plane.

When he walked through the door, his son ran to him with that same innocent smile, not realizing what he had done. The dad later admitted he could not even be mad. He said it was the kind of memory you laugh about for years once the frustration fades.
