Exfoliation is the act of removing old dead skin cells on the skins topmost surface! It involves deep cleansing and scrubbing!
Exfoliation helps in dislodging build ups in pores and breaking up whiteheads, On the face As you scrub it enhances blood flow to the face making it appear supple,fresh giving it a soft look,it refines and improves skin texture and feel! It helps in reducing dark spot and hyper pigmentation as well and increases the skin's absorption of creams and active ingredients!

When exfoliating especially the face,dont be harsh on skin,use gentle upward circular motion and avoid eye area except if it is indicated to be used around the eye area!
Do not go overboard with exfoliation,when starting out depending on your skin type and needs,you can exfoliate twice to thrice weekly and if skin reacts or is sensitive,use weekly! If skin is oily,you may wish to exfoliate more.As from 35years,some people may find that their skin become drier,do not stop exfoliating rather reduce frequency!Over doing exfoliation can remove skins natural oils,so be gentle.Avoid body scrubs on face especially if face is sensitive because body scrubs might have rougher granules which can be harsh for the face!

After exfoliation,rinse with warm water(not HOT) and use a clean towel to pat dry your skin after which you moisturise with a cream only or any antiageing serum before bedtime.
Exfoliation can be anytime but I prefer it in the evenings or late evenings before bed time so the skin can rest while its nourishing and repairing itself from within while I support it with a good sleep,off stress,environmental pollutants and sunlight!
