GAPHI was honoured to participate in the Nigeria Love Alliance Closeout/Learning Forum — a transformative three-day gathering rooted in reflection, collaboration, and collective action.

The forum convened grantee partners from diverse movements to share lived experiences, deepen learning, and strengthen strategies to advance health, human rights, and social justice, with sustainability at heart. Through insightful conversations and dynamic sessions, we unpacked intersectional challenges, celebrated community-led solutions, and renewed our shared commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and just society.

This powerful convening reinforced the strength of unity and the profound impact of advocacy grounded in solidarity.

A rights-based approach is not just a strategy; it is a commitment to uphold the dignity, health, and autonomy of every individual, especially those with vulnerabilities and are most at-risk. We must boldly tackle the stigma and discrimination that stand as formidable barriers to accessing prevention, treatment, and care. Join us @ GAPHInigeria in this global course.

Together, we must confront the inequalities that hinder our journey toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals target of ending AIDS by 2030. This year’s theme, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!” is a rallying cry for accessible, rights-based healthcare that empowers those affected by HIV/AIDS to live vibrant and fulfilling lives.

Despite incredible medical progress that has helped treat and manage HIV, a significant number of people living with HIV still suffer from stigma _both from negative societal perception and self- blame or guilt. Not everyone has access to life saving services : Effective HIV treatment and prevention methods enable everyone affected by HIV to live fulfilling and happy lives when we have access to them. Discrimination and criminalization of LGBTQ+ people not only decrease their access to these services but also increase their vulnerability to HIV.
