Wonders of GORON TULA in human system.
In tropical Africa, Azanza garckeana (F. Hoffm.) Exell and Hillc. is among the popular multipurpose fruit trees, characterized by edible fruits with different plant parts used as herbal medicines and plant products sold to local markets generating substantial incomes for the household . The World Agroforestry Centre identified A. garckeana as one of the fruit trees that should be integrated in the domestication process in farming systems to support nutritional, health and income security of local communities in tropical Africa .

For centuries, local communities in developing countries and marginalized areas have relied on wild edible fruits as food, medicines and nutritional supplements. In recent decades, there has been a resurgence of interest in wild edible fruits as they are known to broaden the food, nutritional security and livelihood needs of the poor and those people living in marginalized areas .

Accumulated evidence generated over the years categorize large proportion of wild edible fruits as both food and medicines as the plants are characterized by several micronutrients and allelochemicals that are important for human nutrition and health . These nutritional and medicinal properties of wild edible fruits enable some people to use wild edible fruits as medicines and also broaden the diversity of the human diet, nutritional options, vitamins and minerals. Medicinal properties of wild edible fruits include their antioxidant effects which play a crucial role in the prevention of chronic ailments such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, stroke and alzheimer’s disease by combating oxidative stress . Research by Glew et al. and Lamien-Meda et al. revealed that wild edible fruits are characterized by remarkable nutrient values as well as being an excellent source of minerals, fibre, vitamins C, A and E, polyphenols, ascorbic acid and fatty acid s that add flavour and colour to the diet.

While do you suffer any of this...... Moringa oleifera can be of help.

Rheumatoid arthritis : Moringa leaf extract may lower fluid swelling, redness, and pain .

Diabetes: Several early studies show that insulin -like proteins found in moringa may help lower
blood sugar. Plant chemicals found in the leaves might help the body process sugar better, and it may affect how the body releases insulin.
Cancer: In lab tests, leaf extracts slowed the growth of pancreatic cancer cells and helped
chemotherapy work better. Other lab studies show that moringa leaves, bark, and roots all have anti-cancer effects that might lead to new
drugs .
Memory: Some experts think the antioxidants and other health-promoting plant chemicals may heal stress and inflammation in the brain.
Scientists are also trying to see if it might help with:
Cholesterol
Arthritis
High blood pressure
Liver damage caused by medicines
Stomach ulcers
Asthma
Wound healing
Ulcerative colitis
Diarrhea
Anemia
Weight Loss.

Studies performed to quantify the biochemical properties and efficacies of Moringa have yielded positive results. For instance, a study performed by Dondee et al. showed a dose dependent suppressive effect on parasite growth of up to 90% and an 80% reduction in parasite burden. Moringa suppressed parasitaemia up to 91% in a dose dependent fashion compared to 50% seen with artesunate alone.

Moringa is also consumed to treat malnutrition in many malaria endemic areas . It has been shown to be a high source of fiber, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin C, and carotenoids . Nutrition studies have shown that Moringa provides more than 7 times the amount of Vitamin C in oranges, 10 times the amount of Vitamin A in milk, 9 times the amount of protein in yogurt, 15 times the amount of potassium found in bananas, and 25 times the amount of iron in spinach . Human studies have shown that 8 grams of Moringa leaf powder can provide a toddler with 14% of the protein, 23% of the iron.
