Tips on cooking safely with Gas Cooker
·Never leave cooking unattended to.
·Never get distracted. If you are called away, turn off the gas.
·Never allow a child to cook without adult’s supervision.
·Turn pot handles away from the cooker edge.
·Keep cooker and cook tops free of grease and fat build-up.
·Hang tea-towels and oven mitts away from the cookwares.
·Wear tight-fitting sleeves when cooking.
·Ensure the exhaust pipe in the cookwares is clean and free of grease and fat build-up.
·Have a fire blanket and extinguisher in the kitchen.
·Ensure smoke alarms are working.
·Have a fire escape plan in place.
·Feeling cold? Do not use cooking appliances as heaters. They are not designed for this purpose.
·When cooking with gas, make sure the flame does not go out – gas can escape silently and invisibly

WHEN USING COOKING GAS
*Keep the doors and windows of your kitchen open for proper ventilation.
*Do not place flammable or plastic items near the flame.
*Never leave your cooking unattended.
*Wear clothes that do not catch fire easily.
*Close the regulator k**b to OFF position when cylinder is not in use.
MAINTAINING AND STORING COOKING GAS
*Disconnect gas regulator and affix safety cap on the cylinder when your gas stove is not in use for long.
*Always store the gas cylinder in an upright position and away from other combustible and flammable materials.
*As good practice, change the tubes once a year .
*Always use an approved tubes, stoves, regulators and gas appliances.
*Make sure all parts of your gas system are in good condition.
*Never tamper with your gas cylinder.
IN A CASE OF EMERGENCY
*Close regulator and burner k**bs. Do not panic.
*Open all doors and windows for ventilation.
*Extinguish all flames, lamps, incense sticks and sources of fire.
*Put the safety cap on the cylinder.
*Call your distributor or emergency service for help.
*Do not operate electrical switches and appliances in the room.
*Isolate main electrical supply from outside.
*Gas is heavier than air and it settles on the ground. Use all available ventilation to disperse the gas.
