Dreams are like acorns starting as small seeds but surely and earnestly growing to feed humanity beyond time, tongue or territory. Do not ditch your dream, yet ,sooner than you know,it will take root and connect to everlasting flowing streams and rivers.
It is not the what ,where or when, but how far which translated means experience the journey for all it is worth.
Journey well ,and safe return back from your trip D**e.

It's my first time in the Caribbean. And it is Poetry that brought me here. Just like Poetry took me to the US for the first time in 2019, and to Switzerland for the first time in 2014. And to Berlin for a whole week in 2018. See? I had not been in Barbados for up to 3 hours when a man stopped me and said - 'Where in Africa are you from?' We were soon deep in conversation about AfroCaribbean relations. He told me, 'It is disgraceful that till this day there is no direct flight from anywhere in the Caribbean to Africa. Can you imagine this?' This is the very theme that brought me here. For Afreximbank, in partnership with the Government of Barbados, is hosting the first ever AfroCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum. I will tell you more about Afreximbank some day, and the passion with which it has pursued a comprehensive Pan-African agenda under the presidency of Benedict Oramah. Today, I am in Barbados, because I am a spoken word poet, a conscious artist, with a deep commitment to Pan-Africanism. I am here to speak, in just 7 minutes, to the theme of the conference: "One People, One Destiny: Re-imagining the Future". I pray God gives wings to my words. Yes. And when I have done what I came here to do then I will consider the fact that Poetry has also, this time, thrown in a deeply needed holiday in the Caribbean for this travel-weary poet. I tell you, not bad for a talent I was once told was quite useless. So, if you know your path, follow it, whether it looks popular or profitable in the moment. For true fulfilment is always about the long run. Always.
