As a relaxed and healthy hair specialist, one of the things I hear a lot is, “I want my hair bone straight, Like the ones on relaxer boxes”.
The truth is, a lot of the pictures you see on relaxer boxes have been heat styled to get that super sleek look, so it’s not always the best comparison.
I’ve had clients ask me to leave the relaxer on longer because they feel their hair isn’t straight enough. (Of course I don’t go against our healthy hair standards).
But what many people don’t realize is that I’m not just thinking about how your hair looks today..I’m thinking about how it’ll look and feel months from now.
Sometimes, not taking the hair bone straight is exactly what’s best for it. Leaving a little texture helps prevent overprocessing, reduces breakage, and gives your hair a better chance of retaining length.
My goal is to give you healthy hair that you can actually keep.
