I want to answer Suzyglams Empire question.
She asked, “How long is the ideal time to carry a hairstyle?”
How long you should carry your hairstyle, like your hairstyle with extensions, depends on the nature, type, and need of your hair.
I mentioned nature because, in as much as we have different hair types, different porosity, and different needs, sometimes your 4C hair might not really behave like my own 4C hair.
So, when we talk about this, we are talking about your sweat level. Your lifestyle can also affect your hair and should determine how often you should keep your hair, take down your braids, and do your hair wash.
When I talk about lifestyle, I talk about if you do something that makes you sweat a lot. If you are always sweating a lot, then you should know that you should not make hairstyles that you carry for too long without washing, in order not to breed bacteria.
If you are the type that does exercise, then you should always opt for wigs so that you can carry cornrows. You can carry cornrows because you can actually wash your hair while your cornrows are still on.
So, even if you want to make braids, it should not be more than two weeks.
And while you are on braids, get your antibacterial treatment, which is our Vitamin E Serum. It also helps to combat and prevent bacteria. It will help manage the hair in the meantime before taking down and washing your hair.
Note, it does not replace washing your hair. It just helps to manage the hair to avoid bacteria until you take down and wash your hair.
So, your lifestyle and your activities can affect or determine how often you should take down your braids or hairstyles that cannot allow you to wash your hair while they are on.
And then, your hair type, your hair porosity, and your hair needs can also affect this.
There are people that can carry their hair for one month, no itching at all. They just apply their treatments, you know, their butter, their serum, until they take down the braids, do their wash, deep condition, and they are good to go.
But there are some that cannot. In fact, after one week, the hair is becoming restless.
So, study your hair. Know your hair. Know your hair type, plus your activities too.
These are the things that will determine how often you should take down your braids and how often you should do your hair wash.
