It’s a norm for ladies and even men without any major skin concerns to think that skin care products and routines are only meant for those at the other end of the line.
It’s true you face looks completely fine without all the extras but is your skin actually healthy?
As a makeup artist I can honestly tell you, The difference in tue out come of our work on a skin that has been properly and consist fed and one that isn’t is very clear…
Relying on only the skin prep you get during your makeup appointments is not enough.
If you are like me, either no skin concerns to focus on then you are in luck, this means less processes and less product..
Everyone should incorporate at least a cleanser, an exfoliant ,a hydration toner, a serum(I use hyanuronic or niacinamide) and a moisturizer.. this is as simple as it can get and the products can be inexpensive yet effective ..
❌Stop depriving your skin

Color correction is a technique that uses color theory to neutralize unwanted tones on the skin. It helps even out complexion, hide imperfections, and create a flawless makeup base.it is based on the color wheel, where opposite colors cancel each other out.

Here’s how it works:
• Green neutralizes red → Cancels out redness (acne, rosacea, irritation)
• Peach/orange cancels blue/purple → Covers dark circles (especially on lighter skin tones)
• Red/orange cancels out greenish tones → Helps cover bruises or veins
• Yellow neutralizes purple → Reduces dark circles and bruising
• Purple cancels out yellow/sallow tones → Brightens dull or uneven skin

Before proceeding to apply any corrector,Identify the Concern

✅Look at your skin under natural light and identify the discoloration—redness, dark spots, under-eye circles, or dullness.

✅Pick the correct shade based on the color theory above.

✅Apply in Thin Layers
• Use a small amount of corrector to avoid a cakey look.
• Gently tap (not rub) the product with your fingers, a brush, or a sponge.

✅Blend and Set
• Blend seamlessly into the skin.
• Apply foundation over the corrector for an even complexion.
• Set with a light dusting of translucent powder to prevent creasing.

For a Flawless Finish:

✔️ Always moisturize before applying color correctors to avoid patchiness.
✔️ Use a lightweight foundation over the corrector to prevent heaviness.
✔️ Less is more—build gradually rather than applying too much at once.
✔️ If in doubt, use a peach corrector—it works well for most discoloration!

NO, wearing makeup does not ruin your skin

FACT:
Makeup products are formulated to be applied on skin, therefore they are safe for that purpose.
However, there are two habits that can cause these same ingredients to be harmful to your skin and cause damage either immediately or after some time.

1st: USING FAKE,SUBSTANDARD & EXPIRED PRODUCTS: this automatically means that the components of such products are not/no longer safe or suitable for useage on the skin and should be avoided completely.

2nd: NOT TAKING DOWN YOUR MAKEUP PROPERLY/ AFTER CARE: The most effective method to take down your makeup proper still remains DOUBLE CLEANSING!!
It is also important to follow up this process with moisture re-introduction but using a toner and a moisturizer. As closing is known to strip your skin off most of its oils.
