You can infect your child.....

Many people do not know that some s*xually transmitted infections can be passed from a mother to her baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or even after delivery.

Infections like gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B, and others may affect the baby if proper testing and treatment are not done early.

For example, during vaginal delivery, a baby can come in contact with infected fluids from the birth canal. Some infections can also cross from the mother’s bloodstream to the baby during pregnancy. In certain cases, these infections may lead to eye infections, breathing problems, low birth weight, severe illness, or even long-term complications for the child.

The painful part is that many of these conditions can be prevented through proper antenatal care, early testing, and treatment.

Please, before planning for pregnancy or immediately you discover you are pregnant go for the necessary medical tests. Encourage your partner to get tested too.

Getting tested is not a sign of shame.
It is a sign of responsibility, love, and protection for your unborn child.

Your baby deserves a healthy start in life.

DON’TS

As a woman birth the number of children you (the woman) can comfortably care for. You might understand this now but I will share the story later.

Nobody made the rule that you should stop breastfeeding when a child starts walking 🚶‍♀️ there's no relationship between breastfeeding and walking

Weaning a baby off breastfeeding should not be a painful process...

Breastfeeding works on a demand-and-supply system.

The more a baby sucks the breast, the more the body produces breast milk.
And the less the baby sucks, the less the body produces.

That is why stopping breastfeeding should not be done abruptly or suddenly. It is a gradual process.

If done suddenly, the result may be:
• breast pain
• engorgement
• blocked ducts
• discomfort for the mother
• emotional stress for the child

Let us look at two case studies 👇🏽

CASE A:
A woman wants to stop breastfeeding her child at 1 year and 3 months.

The exact day the child clocks 1 year and 3 months, she suddenly stops breastfeeding completely.

What may happen?
• severe breast fullness and pain
• engorgement
• blocked milk ducts
• difficulty for the child to cope emotionally
• restless nights and excessive crying

The child may even become sick because breastfeeding was also a source of comfort and emotional security.

CASE B:
Another woman also wants to stop breastfeeding her child at 1 year and 3 months.

But from when the child turns 1 year old, she starts reducing breastfeeding gradually.

If she used to breastfeed every 2–3 hours during the day, she gradually spaces it to every 5 hours.

At the same time, she:
• increases family meals
• gives healthy snacks
• gives water more often
• introduces other sources of milk if needed
• comforts and distracts the child in other ways

Gradually:
• the child adjusts
• the mother’s body adjusts
• breast milk production reduces naturally
• weaning becomes easier and less painful

Weaning is not a race.
Slow and gradual is often better for both mother and child. 🤍

So tell me would you rather be woman A or woman B?

Why should I use condoms?

Condoms are a barrier method of family planning that not only help prevent unwanted pregnancy, but also reduce the risk of s*xually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HPV.

Safe s*x is always smarter than risky s*x. Prevention will always be better than cure.

The number of people living with HIV is still alarming. Although HIV can be transmitted in different ways, a large percentage of cases are linked to unprotected s*xual practices.

If you cannot maintain one s*xual partner, make sure you use condoms consistently.

If you know your partner is not s*xually faithful and you still choose to be intimate with them, protect yourself. Use condoms.

It is better to stay alive and healthy than to live with preventable pain, trauma, or lifelong health challenges.

Protect yourself. Protect your future. Practice safe s*x.

Don't drink hot water be drinking cold water when clotted blood kpai you, you will learn lesson in your grave.

This was a real comment someone dropped under my last post. 👀

But let’s ask ourselves honestly:

How does the temperature of the water you drink determine whether blood will clot inside the womb?

The water we drink passes through the digestive tract, not directly into the uterus.

Also, once water enters the body, it gradually adjusts toward body temperature. It does not remain “ice cold” or “boiling hot” inside the body.

After childbirth, the body naturally removes blood and tissue through a normal healing process called lochia.
This process is controlled mainly by:
✔️ Uterine contraction
✔️ Hormones
✔️ Natural healing processes

not by the temperature of the water a woman drinks.

If hot water alone prevented postpartum complications, then women in many parts of the world who do not practice these traditions would not recover safely after childbirth.

Warm water may provide comfort and relaxation, yes. But comfort is different from scientific evidence.

As healthcare professionals and informed individuals, it is important to separate cultural beliefs from medical facts while still respecting traditions. ❤️

If you are the person that made this comment it is time to unlearn and relearn 🩺

Does drinking hot water after childbirth really cleanse the womb of bad blood?

Many women are advised to drink hot water after delivery so that “bad blood” can come out of the womb.

Some mothers even encourage it because they believe it helps the stomach become flatter quickly after childbirth.

But medically, let’s understand what really happens in the body.

The water you drink passes through the digestive system:
➡️ Mouth
➡️ Esophagus
➡️ Stomach
➡️ Intestines

It does not travel directly into the womb to wash out blood.

After childbirth, the body naturally removes blood and tissue through a normal healing process called lochia. This is not “dirty” or “bad” blood. It is simply the uterus healing and shedding what is no longer needed after pregnancy.

Warm water may still help a new mother feel better by:
✔️ Providing warmth
✔️ Helping relaxation
✔️ Improving comfort
✔️ Supporting hydration

But it does not literally cleanse the womb from inside or magically flatten the tummy.

Have you ever wondered why many women in other parts of the world do not follow these hot water traditions after childbirth, yet they still recover and eventually regain a flatter tummy?

Postpartum tummy reduction is more connected to:
✔️ Natural uterine contraction
✔️ Time and healing
✔️ Genetics
✔️ Physical activity
✔️ Nutrition
✔️ Overall body structure

Some traditional practices come from love, care, and support for new mothers, but it is also important to understand the science behind postpartum recovery. ❤️

Have you ever been advised to drink hot water after childbirth?

Once breastfeeding reduces or stops, many parents stop giving their child nutritious milk regularly. Some children only take tea (breverage and milk) , sugary drinks, or flavored beverages.

But milk is still important for a child’s growth and development. 🥛👶🏽

Milk helps to:
✅ Build strong bones and teeth
✅ Support healthy brain development
✅ Provide protein for growth and body repair
✅ Give energy to active growing children
✅ Supply important vitamins and minerals the body needs

You do not have to buy the most expensive milk. Give what you can afford, especially full cream milk, but make sure your child is getting the nutrients needed for healthy growth.

Also remember that milk works best together with balanced meals like:
🥚 Eggs
🐟 Fish
🍌 Fruits
🥬 Vegetables
🫘 Beans and cereals

Healthy nutrition in childhood supports healthy growth. 💙
