The person who understands the business will always have an advantage over the person who only has money.

I have seen people enter businesses because they saw somebody else making money from them.

They see the office.

They see the equipment.

They see the customers.

They see the branding.

They see the social media posts.

And they think, “I can do this too.”

So they invest heavily.

The problem is, they copied the appearance of the business without understanding the business.

They don't know where the customers come from.

They don't understand the numbers.

They don't know why customers choose that business.

They don't understand the competition.

They don't know what happens when sales slow down.

They don't understand the marketing.

They don't understand the product deeply enough to improve it.

And eventually, the money starts disappearing.

This is why I always say: before you invest heavily in a business, invest heavily in understanding it.

Sometimes the person with the small office and simple setup understands the business better than the person who came in with millions.

Money can buy equipment.

Money can buy branding.

Money can rent a beautiful office.

But money cannot buy understanding.

And if you understand the business deeply enough, you can start small, learn the market, make mistakes cheaply, improve your model and grow from there.

Don't just ask:

“How much money do I need to start?”

Ask:

“How much do I need to understand before I start?”

That question can save you a lot of money.💯

📌 Properly registered with relevant agency (CAC, SMEDAN, SCUM).

📌 Business that is still operating with your personal savings account rather than corporate account (Business account).

📌 No proper documentation for all business services and accounting.

📌 No well defined services/products delivering.

📌 No clearly defined mission/vision statement.

Young mind, we have a lot to go even with our levels of education and exposure.
