Good afternoon fams, sorry it's been a long time,but am back nw.
Today we'll be taking about catarrh and tonight we continue from where we stopped.

What is catarrh?
Catarrh is when your body produces too much mucus, making your nose, throat, or sinuses feel congested and uncomfortable.
Catarrh is a common condition characterized by:
1. *Excess mucus production*: Thick, sticky mucus accumulates in the nasal passages, throat, or sinuses.
2. *Inflammation*: Swelling and irritation in the affected areas.

Common causes
1. *Colds and allergies*: Your body reacts to viruses or allergens like pollen or dust.
2. *Irritants*: Exposure to smoke, pollution, or strong smells.
3. *Infections*: Viral or bacterial infections, such as colds or sinusitis
4. Environmental factors*: Exposure to pollution, smoke, or strong odors.
Symptoms
1. *Stuffy or runny nose*: Nasal congestion or discharge
2. *Postnasal drip*: Mucus dripping down the throat
3. *Sore throat*: Discomfort or irritation

Relief measures
1. *Stay hydrated*: Drink plenty of fluids
2. *Use saline nasal sprays*: Help loosen mucus
3. *Avoid triggers*: Stay away from allergens or irritants
4. Medications*: Antihistamines, decongestants, or corticosteroids may be prescribed
If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider for guidance.

Good morning fams , today I will be talking about tension headache.
Let's dive in.
Tension headache is the most common type of primary headache characterized by dull, aching , or pressing sensation of tightness on both sides of the head often described as band around the head.
TYPES OF TENSION HEADACHE
1. Infrequent episodic headache; this headache happens one day in a month or fewer.
2. Frequent episodic headache; this headache occurs 1 to 14 day every month for at least 3 months.
3. Chronic headache; this occurs when a person has more than 15 headaches every month for 3 months.
CAUSES OF TENSION HEADACHE
Though the cause is unknown. Some believe tension headache starts when muscles between your head and neck knot up, eventually tightening your scalp muscle. Other tension headache causes include;
1. Neck strain from looking down to read or holding a cell phone between the head and shoulder.
2. Eye strain from staring at a computer screen or documents for a long time without taking break.
3. Sleep disorder issues like sleep apnea and insomnia.
4. Anxiety.
5. Depression.
SYMPTOMS OF TENSION HEADACHE
The symptoms varies but most people describe it as;
1. Aching or tight neck muscle and shoulder muscle.
2. Feeling like something is squeezing the side of the head together.
3. Constant mild to moderate pressure and pain.
4. Sensitivity to light and sound.
COMPLICATIONS OF TENSION HEADACHE
If it becomes persistence for a long period of time, it becomes chronic tension headache which will make it hard to focus on activities of daily living and family.
MANAGEMENT/TREATMENT
Treatment varies depending on tension headache type for example, if it is episodic headache, they provider may recommend you to start OTC pain relief like; paracetamol ,ibuprofen and aspirin. If it is chronic they provider may recommend; antidepressant, cognitive behavioral therapy to help manage stress.
PREVENTION
1. Massage therapy.
2. Exercise and get enough rest.

Good afternoon fams , today I'll be talking on sirenomalia.
Let's dive in.

Sirenomalia also known as mermaid syndrome. It is a rare congenital developmental disorder characterized by anomalies of the lower spine and the lower limb. It is a congenital deformity in which the legs are fused together, thereby giving the appearance of a mermaid's tail.
CAUSES
There are no exact cause of mermaid syndrome but some potential environmental cause of mermaid syndrome include;
1. Alcohol use
2. Amino acid imbalance.
3. Exposure to toxins including co***ne, lithium, and ci******es.
4. Exposure to retinoic acid.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
1. Absent of the tail bone.
2. Absent of the sacrum.
3. No feet or one foot.
TREATMENT
There is often no treatment for sirenomalia.
PREVENTION
Avoidance of risk factors/causes.

Today we will be talking on ectopic pregnancy.
Have u seen someone who has experienced it before.
Let's dive in😁😁

ECTOPIC PREGNANCY
Ectopic pregnancy is a type of pregnancy that occurs when a fertilized egg attaches somewhere outside the uterus. It is a pregnancy that grows outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube. Though it is rare but it is a very serious condition.
CAUSES/RISK FACTOR
1. Past ectopic pregnancy.
2. Became pregnant while on IUD.
3. Pelvic inflammatory disease.
4. Previous pelvic surgery.
5. Growth blocking the fallopian tube.
6. Scarring or damage to the fallopian tube.
7. Being born with irregularly shaped fallopian tube.
SIGN N SYMPTOMS
1. Pelvic pain ( progress from mild to severe but often on one side).
2. Vaginal bleeding or spotting accompanied by shoulder or neck pain.
3. Low blood pressure.
4. Sudden fainting and dizziness.
COMPLICATIONS
The most dangerous complication of ectopic pregnancy is
1. Tubal rupture which can lead to severe internal bleeding that can cause shock, fainting or even death.
TREATMENT/MANAGEMENT
1). Expectant management: This is when one's condition is carefully monitored to see whether treatment is necessary or not.
2. Medicine; Drugs are given to stop the pregnancy from growing.
3. Surgery; Surgery is used to remove the pregnancy, usually along with the affected fallopian tube.
PREVENTION
1. Quit smoking
2. Use condoms during s*x to prevent STI.
3. Maintain healthy weight which will contribute to good reproductive health.
4. Limit s*xual partners because it will help lower the risk of acquiring STI.
NOTE: One can't always prevent an ectopic pregnancy, but you can reduce your risk by using condoms when not trying for a baby to protect yourself against STIs and by stopping smoking if you smoke.
