Eight years ago, I opened The Night Barber in The Hague with a simple idea: to create a quiet place for a proper haircut after hours. A place where a man could sit down, slow down for a moment, and enjoy the ritual of a well-made cut and good conversation.

Over the years, that small idea grew into something more. The Night Barber became a regular stop for many gentlemen across the city—late evenings, familiar faces, stories shared, and thousands of haircuts along the way.

This spring marks a new chapter.

Just across the square, The Night Barber is moving into its own space—a studio designed around the same principles that have guided the shop since the beginning: simplicity, craftsmanship, and time well spent.

Welcome to The Night Barber Studio.

Located at Anna Paulownaplein 2 in Den Haag, the new studio will remain true to the original concept: a one-chair barbershop, dedicated entirely to the individual sitting in it. No rush, no noise—just a thoughtful haircut in a calm and carefully designed setting.

The new studio is currently taking shape and will open in May 2026.

I look forward to welcoming both longtime clients and new faces into this next chapter of The Night Barber.

🍰 The Dessert Room is coming.

A 23-seat, late-evening dessert salon hidden above Café Paloma on Anna Paulownaplein (right across the way!).

Not a restaurant.
Not a café.
A whole new ritual.
Three courses.
Serious pastry.
Candlelight.
A little ceremony.
A space where grown men (and women!) can sit, slow down, and appreciate something beautiful without apology.

I wanted you — the guys who’ve been with me from the beginning (or from last week!) — to hear it first.

While Richard and Sebastián have very different approaches to their techniques and skill sets, they both offer the same quality service that you've come to know and trust over the years.

So don't hesitate trying them both and having the confidence in knowing whichever barber you choose you'll get the haircut or beard trim you're after.

Make sure to select your desired staff member seen differently (image below) on desktops and smartphones. Your email booking confirmation also indicates the barber you've chosen for your upcoming booking. 💈
