Every estate holds its stories and few are as unexpected as this one.
In 2014 the Rolling Stones stayed with us for three days at Château St. Gerlach. During their time here they were moved by the life of Gerlachus, the twelfth-century knight turned hermit whose name our estate still carries. So moved, in fact, that they helped fund a reconstruction of his face.
Autumn is a season for slowing down. Beneath the arches of the estate, Spa & Wellness St. Gerlach offers a warm retreat from the cooler days: a Roman pool, sauna and Turkish steambath and restorative treatments.

December at Château St. Gerlach.
This year we have prepared a season of celebrations to suit every kind of gathering, from a six-course Christmas dinner at Les Salons with an overnight stay, to a festive evening in our Winter Garden, a relaxed Christmas at Burgemeester Quicx or a stay to explore the surrounding Christmas markets.
The estate is at its most magical in December and the best dates go early. Plan your festive season with us and reserve through our website.

On the 1st of November, the Château Concerts series returns to the St. Gerlach Pavilion, with pianist Kasper Schonewille and harpist Oxana Thijssen, joined by guest pianist David Voncken. A afternoon built around Beethoven and his pupil Ferdinand Ries, including the Fifth Symphony in a rare arrangement for two grand pianos.
Reserve your place through our website.
Burgemeester Quicx is our farmhouse café at Château St. Gerlach. Stop by for barista-made coffee, a slice of Limburg vlaai, lunch or a dinner.

Château St. Gerlach has been named one of the Best Hotels in Europe in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards, ranking number 34 and among only a select few hotels in the Netherlands to be included on this year's list.
As a reader-voted award, this recognition is especially meaningful. Every vote represents a guest who chose to share their experience with us.
Thank you to our team, whose care and dedication shape every stay, and to everyone who voted. Your support means the world to us.

When event specialists recommend a venue, it means something.
"The service exceeded our expectations. The culinary offerings were top quality, and operations ran very smoothly." - Double S Events, following a wedding for Saskia & Karel at Château St. Gerlach
Weddings, meetings and private occasions at Château St. Gerlach. We're here whenever you're ready to start planning.
This upcoming spring, we are opening the estate for a three-day wellness retreat, created in partnership with About Life Retreats.
Three days to step away, slow down and reconnect with body and mind. The programme consists of meditative walks through the vegetable garden, yoga and breathwork, farm-to-table dining at Les Salons, a floating sound healing session in the St. Gerlach Wellness & Spa, and a closing reflection in the quiet of St. Gerlachus Church. A complete reset, in one of the most peaceful corners of South Limburg.
