Day 1 Training | Lalitpur Ward 7 Women's Group
Today reminded us that learning is never just about reading or writing. Many of the women who joined us today cannot read or write, yet their ability to absorb, retain, and apply new techniques purely through verbal guidance was nothing short of inspiring. A humbling and hopeful start to this training. ๐

From research benches to community forests, our journey has always been rooted in one belief: Nepal's natural resources hold immense potential for sustainable development. ๐ฟ
What started as research on underutilized biomaterials like reetha, chiuri, banana fiber, and other non-timber forest products has grown into a mission to create value-added products while empowering local communities.
Over the years, we have worked with women groups and marginalized communities, including the Chepang community in Chitwan through the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) program supported by FAO Nepal, promoting sustainable livelihoods, banana paper-making from agricultural waste, and innovative uses of forest-based resources.
On this World Environment Day 2026, we are honored to be invited by FAO Nepal to showcase our work on sustainability, value addition, and responsible utilization of non-timber forest products.
This recognition motivates us to continue bridging science, community knowledge, and entrepreneurship to create solutions that are good for people, forests, and the future. ๐๐
Thank you, FAO Nepal, for providing a platform to highlight local innovation and community-led impact.
Wild Ringlet is our newly named curly hair care line. We are designing packaging and prototyping the year-long researched curly hair's curl cream, leave-in conditioner and gel cast removal solutions. Stay tuned for more information.
