Meet Maddison 💅🏼🐶🤎

Our resident advanced nail tech, professional smartass, country girl at heart and mum-to-be — basically a combination of good nails, questionable comebacks and absolutely no filter. 😂

Maddison is one of our advanced nail techs, and when it comes to nails, she’s definitely not afraid of a challenge. Whether it’s a fresh set, intricate nail art or something you’ve found on Pinterest and said “can you do this?” with absolutely no explanation… chances are she’ll give it a bloody good crack. 💅🏼😂

Outside of the salon, Maddison is a proud dog mum and is currently preparing for her newest and tiniest addition — a baby boy! 👶🏼💙 Between puppies, baby prep and trying to convince herself she has everything under control, life is never exactly boring.

When she’s not doing nails, you’ll probably find her baking something she absolutely did not need to make, hanging out with the dogs or embracing her country girl at heart lifestyle. Give her a quiet country setting, some good food and a reason to avoid being productive and she’s happy. 😂🤎

One thing you’ll learn very quickly about Maddison is that she has a comeback for EVERYTHING. Her brain works approximately three seconds ahead of everyone else, so if you say something stupid, you can guarantee she’s already got a smartass response loaded and ready to fire. 😂

Her salon vocabulary is also… unique. If you hear a loud “I’VE BLOODY DONE IT!” from across the salon, don’t panic. She’s probably just successfully pulled off something she’s been trying to perfect for the last 20 minutes. 😂🙌🏼

She’s also the type of person who will say “I’m just going to quickly…” and somehow turn it into a full side quest that takes the rest of the afternoon. Productivity? Questionable. Commitment to the mission? 10/10.

Add in a love for her dogs, baking, a country heart, a rapidly growing collection of nail ideas she needs to try and a personality that definitely keeps the salon entertained… and you’ve pretty much got Maddison.

Come for the nails, stay for the laughs — and whatever you do, don’t give her an opening for a smartass comeback. 😂💅🏼🤎

Meet Renee 🐴🍷💅🏼

Our resident professional yapper, animal collector and newest addition to the nail world. 😂

Renee started doing nails earlier this year, so she’s still fresh to the game and perfecting her skills - but she’s definitely not new to the beauty industry. Before swapping hair for nails, she spent 20+ years as a hairdresser, so making people feel fabulous is nothing new to her. 💁🏼‍♀️✨

She’s a mum of three and when she’s not at the salon, you’ll probably find her surrounded by one of her approximately 847 animals. 😂 She has 4 dogs, 1 cat, 1 horse, 1 cow and a turtle named Bob… and if that wasn’t enough, she’s completely horse obsessed. 🐴

How obsessed? Well… she literally broke her back riding one and STILL decided horses were worth it. 🫠😂

Renee is also ALWAYS down for a good time. 🍷😂 Rosé is basically one of her food groups, and while the rest of us are ready for bed after one night out, Renee can somehow pull a two-day drinking stint and still be ready to go. We don’t understand it. We don’t question it. We just respect the commitment. 🫡😂

Add in ice cream, chocolate, a maturity level that remains highly questionable and the fact she’ll probably become best friends with your pet before you… and you’ve pretty much got Renee.

Come for the nails, stay for the yarns - and whatever you do, don’t challenge her to a drinking competition. 😂🍷💅🏼

Meet Ashley 💅🏼✨

Owner of Smashing Nails, professional overthinker and the reason we probably have 47 shades of the exact same pink. 😂

I’m a mum of two, Australian unfortunately 😂, and have been with my partner for almost 11 years - so apparently he’s decided to keep me.

I’ve been doing nails for around 10 years, and somewhere along the way I even became an educator for one of the brands we worked with… safe to say the nail obsession got a little out of hand.

As for Smashing Nails - the name actually goes waaay back. 😂
Smash/Smashley has been my nickname since I was little, and apparently it was very well earned. My parents like to tell people they used to apologise to waiters at restaurants before we’d even ordered, because there was a pretty solid chance I was going to knock over, spill or smash something. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

So when I needed a name for the salon, there really was only one option… Smashing Nails!

These days I’m still a perfectionist, still slightly accident prone, fueled by a questionable amount of coffee and completely incapable of saying no to new gel colours.

So hiiii, I’m Ash - AKA Smash/Smashley 👋🏼 and now you finally know where Smashing Nails came from. 😂

Meet Brittany 💅🏼✨

Our part-time nail tech, seasoned traveller and the woman with the sense of humour of a teenage boy. 😂 If there’s an opportunity to make a p***s joke, you can pretty much guarantee Britt has already thought of it.

She’s a mum of four in her beautifully chaotic blended family - three stepkids plus one of her own - and somehow also finds time to help run the climate control business she owns with her husband Nathan. Because apparently one job wasn’t enough. 😂

Britt has been doing nails part-time for around 3 years, and over that time has become more and more creative with what she can do. 💅🏼✨

She’s also our resident world traveller 🌎 - she’s been to more countries than most of us could probably name and even lived in Edinburgh for a while, so there’s usually a good story hiding somewhere.

She appreciates a good wine on a good occasion 🍷, is absolutely terrified of birds flying anywhere near her, and has a completely unexplained inability to keep track of her shoes.

Seriously. Britt leaves shoes EVERYWHERE. They’re basically breadcrumbs at this point - so if she ever goes missing, don’t panic… just follow the footwear. 👟➡️🩴➡️👢😂

Basically, she’s well travelled, wildly inappropriate, permanently misplacing her shoes and probably not the person you want to sit beside if you’re trying to behave yourself. 😂💜
