After years of being part of the KM family and being inspired for the whole 20 years of my career, Shana and I had the privilege of finally meeting the man behind it all right here in Tāmaki Makaurau - and honestly, what a cool full-circle moment after years living in Melbourne and finally seeing him here at home in NZ!
Such an inspiring night watching Kevin and Kate do what they does best on stage alongside the incredibly talented KEVIN MURPHY New Zealand artists creating some seriously epic looks.

Trying to hold the weight of the world on your shoulders as a small business owner is… a lot.
Contacting clients, paying wages, ordering stock, GST, tax, contracts, accountants, team trainings, juggling clients, short staffed, supplier meetings, client emails, quotes, future planning, people pleasing, creating opportunities, keeping everyone happy… spending a day at an education seminar when you have a million things to get done, all while also trying to eat well, move your body, walk the dog, see friends, maybe date, look alive, and somehow make content to keep the business visible so the team stays busy and financially secure.
Honestly, no clue how people throw kids into the mix too 🥵
This isn’t a sob story. It’s just the raw truth.
Some days you smile through it all while quietly wondering why on earth you do it. But then I remember - I love creating beautiful hair. I love mentoring my team. I love seeing people become more confident versions of themselves.
And I think I’ve done a pretty dang good job keeping this little salon going for 7 years, through all the highs, lows, chaos and growth.
Anyway… this was me trying to make content with my friend on a Sunday about our new hair and scalp treatment.
By the way, it’s amazing. You should absolutely book it🤪

Well it’s an end of Era for our tribe…our very first apprentice at Wabi Sabi is all grown up and ready to leave the nest 🤍
Today marks Melissa’s last day with us after 6 incredible years of growth, dedication, and becoming the stylist and person she is today. It’s been such a special journey to be part of, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Missy, you’ll be so missed by our tribe. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to the salon over the years, it’s truly been a pleasure. It’s time to spread your wings now and see what else is out there!
We can’t wait to see where life takes you next and wish you nothing but the very best for your future. Enjoy your break and downtime and see you soon!✨
