One24 Barrier Cream, like all our products, is 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐢𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 and 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞. But what does that 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 mean? 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 . . .
𝟏. 𝐀 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 is a product applied directly to the skin surface to help maintain the skin's physical barrier, providing protection from irritants and preventing the skin from drying out.
𝟐. Human skin is waterproof. Water-based (emulsion) barrier creams can’t pe*****te it, so must be applied lavishly and regularly (every 2 hours is the standard recommendation). To avoid being rubbed, sweated or washed off they usually include greasy type ingredients that sit on top of the skin for a limited period. Some of these products are also called “petroleum jellies” – not a term to inspire confidence in the health-conscious!

Our One24 sunscreen is one of the good guys because it’s plant oil-based and 100% water-free. But what does that actually mean? 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 . .
1. Human skin is waterproof. Water-based (emulsion) sunscreens can’t pe*****te it, so must be slapped on regularly and lavishly (every 2 hours is the standard recommendation for emulsion-based SPF50, more often for water activities). Because emulsion-based products sit on the surface of our skin, they can be washed, sweated, brushed, or toweled off – and that’s not good for the environment.
2. One24's plant oil-based products are absorbed into the first two layers of our skin, so they can’t leach or be removed by rubbing, meaning no residues (nanoparticles) to pollute the environment, kill coral reefs or block the filtration systems of your swimming or spa pool.
