All jokes aside, my client was incredibly comfortable during her brow removal. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but what looks intense on camera doesn’t necessarily feel that way.

Dark lip brightening is not a one-session colour change.
It’s a process.
We’re working with the natural melanin and undertones already present in the lips, so the goal is to brighten and gradually build colour without compromising the skin.
This is one healed session at 3 months, followed by the fresh second session.
Colour theory matters. Skin matters. Patience matters.

There’s more to brow design than choosing a shape.
When I look at a face, I’m looking at how the brow changes the relationship between the forehead, eyes and the rest of the face.
A stronger value break creates contrast.
That contrast creates a visual anchor around the eyes.
And the brow becomes part of the facial framing, changing how the upper face is visually balanced.
I’m not trying to change your face. I’m looking at what’s already there and deciding where definition will create the most natural balance.
Because good brow design isn’t just about making the brow look good.
It’s about making sense of the whole face.

A subtle change with cosmetic tattooing completely can shift the visual balance of the face.
This shaded brow was designed around shape, weight and placement to create definition, frame the eyes and bring the upper face together without overpowering her natural features.
The difference is subtle. The impact isn’t.

I knew which brow was her better brow before she said anything. She sat down for shaded brows and I could see it straight away.
Hair growth is better on this side. Shape is softer. It sits on the rounded side of the forehead, so it naturally lifts.
That’s why when she draws them on, this one is always the easier one. The other one she fights with.
I tell you why. I show you where your natural arch sits, where the tip should sit, how your bone structure changes side to side.
When you see WHY one brow has always bugged you, you stop finding fault with your face.
My plan for her was to lift and create a contrast break between forehead and eyes — so there’s definition, not a stamped brow. She said “that’s exactly what I want” before I even finished.

The more I’ve upskilled and learnt from different trainers, the more I’ve realised that building strong foundations in PMU isn’t about making your hand work exactly like someone else’s.
It’s about learning the technique, understanding the principles and then putting in the practice to develop your own control and consistency.
That’s why I practise different techniques on latex. It’s part of building my hand muscle memory and understanding how my machine responds to different movements.
Machine type, machine weight, needle configuration, hand speed, pressure and movement all play a part. There isn’t one machine speed or one way of working that suits every artist.
What works for one artist may need to be adjusted for another.
That doesn’t mean disregarding what you’ve been taught. It means taking what you learn, practising it, understanding it and developing your own way of working.
Because the goal isn’t to become a copy of every trainer you learn from. It’s to build the foundations that allow you to become your own artist.

Beautiful bone structure with nothing framing it. Once the tail comes back and there is depth through the body, the eye lifts, the shadow returns and the whole face reads differently. That is what I am looking at when I map a brow. Not a shape off a chart, the bone underneath and what it needs to come forward.
