What a year 2025 has been. Like many small businesses across NZ, we’ve really felt how tough the economy has been. Empty shops sitting for months, rising costs everywhere, and the cost of living continuing to climb... (anyone jaw drop after seeing their grocery receipts these days? 🥲)

With product costs increasing and our staff being promoted, I made a conscious choice to keep our pricing the SAME this year. Self care should never feel like an added pressure. It’s been important to me to hold that where I can, even if it means absorbing rising costs and simplifying my own life behind the scenes.

Some beautiful changes in the studio this year: Erin stepped into her role as Salon Manager who keeps everything so organised and the salon running smoothly. Greer joined us as a Junior Artist and has grown so much in skill and confidence. Jess continued to refine her craft and was promoted to Expert Artist. We also welcomed the lovely .tosco, who now runs her own business alongside us in the same space. We’ve opened pathways for our team to one day become self-employed or independent artists if that feels right for them. It was a big and slightly scary step, but one that felt deeply aligned with my values and my desire to truly support these women and their dreams.

On a personal level, some of my long term clients will know that my passion has slowly shifted from beauty into wellness, movement and nature. I’m learning how to gently step back and make space for new dreams. I’m preparing to move out of Auckland with my partner to start an organic veggie farm. We’re looking forward to the change of lifestyle from city life 👩🏻‍🌾👨🏻‍🌾
