If you’re sick of the noise, ready to simplify your skincare routine for maximum results, want to embrace and honour your daily rhythm, nourish your nervous system… stop scrolling, drop your shoulders, take a big exhale…

Your intuition when it comes to your skin is right. She may be loudly knocking and saying to you “IT’S TIME TO SIMPLIFY!”, or she may be so quiet you can’t hear her, but your skin is showing signs of distress.

More does not always equal more. Sometimes simplifying is the answer to allowing your skin to settle, calm, and come to balance.

Nature always comes back to balance, and we are nature.

Your body is intelligent, your skin is intelligent. Given the right circumstances balance will be restored.

And it’s always the simple things you already know, but it’s also nice to be told isn’t it?

- drink more water
- get more sunshine/oitside time
- nourish yourself properly with ENOUGH FOOD
- simplify your skincare, create a daily ritual of caring for yourself✨
- prioritise your sleep (as best you can, I see you sleep-deprived mama and I feel you)

Because beauty isn’t something you’ll find in a bottle alone. It’s a combination of looking after yourself, in all ways, skin, body and soul✨🧘🏻‍♀️🤍🌙✨

Ok hear me out and let me break these down for you…

1. SPF - of course if you’re heading to the beach or spending a large amount of your day outside, I recommend you wear spf. If you’re having microneedling done, I recommend spf (gotta protect that baby collagen!) but if you’re spending your days in an office, at a computer screen, from morning til evening, spf is NOT a daily requirement. In fact, it’s probably doing more harm than good (that’s worth another post all on its own)

2. If you want to age faster, keep exfoliating. If you want to build a natural, healthy glow and age SLOWER - put down the exfoliant. Start focusing on barrier health. Your skin is actually designed to exfoliate itself naturally, as it needs to. For context - I can’t remember when I last exfoliated my skin.

3. More does not necessarily equal better. More may be exacerbating your inflammation, breakouts and (insert current skin issue here) 🤓 once again, rather focus on your barrier health and let’s keep your skincare simple but effective.

4. Again, stronger may be worsening whatever skin condition you’re trying to fix. Stronger retinol for example does not always equal more youthful and vibrant skin. Often choosing gentler options will create better, more sustainable, long term results.

5. If I had a dollar every time I heard this!!! And then simultaneously my clinic (in which we focused on “fluffy” aka facials that settle your nervous system and take you out of fight or flight), day in and day out saw incredible results for our clients. If you’ve been following me a while you’ll know how much of an impact STRESS has on your skin, so a facial that enables you to truly drop in, your nervous system to settle and true healing to begin is one of the most powerful tools we as Facialists hold.

5 THINGS AGEING YOUR SKIN FASTER THAN THE SUN ☀️

ok so one of them MIGHT be in your skincare, but hopefully you’ve been following me long enough to have given up the over-exfoliating and harsh cleansers ✌🏼🫢

your skin is literally built from the inside out, so as I said - skincare is important, but it’s the LAST LAYER - how is your nervous system, your diet, your sleep?

Especially when we become mums, these things can go from on-point to absolutely shocking, and as a twin mum I’ve experienced all the ups and downs of ongoing stress, poor dietary choices and shocking sleep. but I choose to prioritise my nervous system, make better food choices that support my skin, mind, body and overall energy, and (most recently) have changed my sleep habits to better my sleep hygiene - 9.30 is the new 11pm and wow does that make a huge difference!
