What if BBL could influence more than what we see on the surface?
A Stanford-led pilot study examined skin before and after three BBL treatments. Researchers found that the expression of 1,293 age-related genes shifted to more closely resemble the patterns seen in younger skin.
While the study was small and further research is always valuable, its findings offer an interesting look at what may be happening beneath the visible improvements in pigmentation, redness and overall skin quality.
