We don’t bring products into the salon just because they sound good — they have to work behind the chair.
OCCA has become part of the way we work at ANCO Studio, especially through our colour and lightening services.
For us, it’s about keeping the hair feeling stronger, softer and more manageable while still allowing our colourists to push for the result we want.
Before we ever talk about a product, we want to use it ourselves, test it on real clients, and see how it performs in real salon conditions.
That’s exactly what we’ve been doing with OCCA.
Tested behind the chair. Used by our colourists. Part of our everyday salon work.
We’ve been using OCCA in our own salon, and this is exactly the kind of result we wanted to see.
No.1 goes straight into the colour service, then No.2 is used afterwards as the treatment step.

Toner isn’t just for making blonde cooler.
Even warm blondes, creamy blondes, beige blondes, honey tones and golden balayage are usually toned.
Why?
Because bleach mainly lifts pigment out of the hair. What’s left underneath is often raw yellow, orange or uneven warmth.
Toner is what turns that raw lift into an intentional colour.
It can:
• Neutralise unwanted yellow or orange
• Add back the tone you actually want
• Make warm colours look richer instead of brassy
• Create more depth and saturation
• Improve shine and make the finish look more polished
Even when the goal is a warm blonde, we still use toner to control which warm tone you see.
There’s a big difference between unwanted yellow and a deliberate creamy, beige or golden finish.
After bleaching, the hair has also lost some of its natural pigment and can look flat, hollow or dull. A toner helps redeposit colour molecules into the hair, which can make the colour appear fuller, more balanced and more reflective.
So toner isn’t only about cancelling warmth.
Bleach creates the lift.
Toner creates the colour.
That’s why in modern balayage, highlights and blonde services, toner is usually part of the finished result — not an optional extra.

But that doesn’t mean everyone needs the exact same routine.
Different hair has different levels of damage, texture, porosity and styling habits. The most important thing is understanding what your hair actually needs — and choosing products that support it instead of simply adding more.

If you’re bleaching or heavily lightening your hair without any bond-building or reparative treatment, you’re simply asking the hair to take more stress on its own.
That can mean:
More breakage.
More snapping through the mid-lengths and ends.
More dryness and roughness.
Less elasticity.
More difficulty maintaining length.
And hair that becomes harder to manage after repeated colour services.
Bleach already puts stress on the internal structure of the hair.
If the hair is already fragile, previously coloured, heat-styled, or repeatedly lightened, skipping additional protection can make that weakness more noticeable.
This doesn’t mean every client must add every treatment.
But on compromised hair, doing nothing is still a choice — and sometimes the result is more breakage than necessary.
The colour may look good on the day.
The real question is:
How much hair strength are you losing to get there?
