It is a massage technique,
not a facial, used to release
stress/tension on the face

Why does jaw release make people cry?
Because the jaw doesn’t just hold tension.

it holds stress, unspoken words, grief, trauma.

Most people don’t realise how much they clench until it finally lets go.
When we release the jaw, the nervous system can shift from fight/flight into safety.

And that’s when the body starts to release.

Sometimes it’s one tear.
Sometimes it’s floods.

And sometimes, nothing at all.
Not because it “didn’t work”
but because every body releases differently.

Tears aren’t the only sign of release.
Yawning, swallowing, deep sighs, calmness, even sleepiness, all count.

Your body only releases what it feels safe enough to release.

This is why jaw work is never just facial.
It’s nervous system therapy.

Have you ever experienced this?

That exhale.
That softened jaw.
That quiet nervous system reset.

This is what facial release is really about.

We’re wired for connection.
From the moment we’re born, touch is our first language.

Human touch lowers cortisol (stress hormone) and increases oxytocin , the hormone that helps you feel safe, held, and connected.

And that’s why massage isn’t just about releasing a tight neck or unclenching your jaw.

It’s nervous system work.
It’s your body receiving the message: you can soften now.
Because when you’re constantly in “go mode,” your face holds it.

Your jaw tightens.
Your breath shortens.
Your shoulders rise.
Your nervous system stays on guard.
Sometimes what you need isn’t more discipline.

It’s more support.
Touch is grounding.
Touch is regulating.
Touch is medicine.
If your body has been asking for a reset… this is your sign.

Not just a face massage
It’s fascia work, lymph flow, and muscle release.
I like this kind of stuff

Hi, I’m Mirelle (Lela) face massage specialist, yoga lover, beach girlie, and deeply connected to women’s health.

The beach is my reset.
It grounds me, clears my mind, and makes me happy.

I’ve travelled to many different countries, and it never gets boring. While travelling isn’t always easy, it reminds me the world is full of different ideas and different ways to enjoy life.

Wellness isn’t perfection, it’s the small choices we make every day.

What’s your go-to grounding ritual?

Jaw tension is mostly a nervous system + muscle habit issue, not a mindset issue.

Your body doesn’t release tension through thoughts.

It releases it through signals: breath, touch, movement, safety.
That’s why these 5 simple ways can soften a tight jaw .
