Thats all Folks! All things come to end and on Saturday I will be hanging up my clippers for the final time at Greenpoint Barber. My partner will be be expanding her shop .florist into my space and I will be returning to work in film and television to a new project at the beginning of next year. I’d play this record if I had it but I’m going to post about anyway, I went and checked out all their YouTube videos recently and they are a riot. Snotty punk pub rock from Melbourne , their debut album came out earlier this year. Great song titles like Gacked on Anger and Some mutts can’t be muzzled. Happy birthday to Chris Hillman of The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers who was born on this day in 1944. Also on this day in 1965 The Byrds started a three week stint at number one on the US singles chart with their hit ‘Turn, Turn, Turn’, that must have been a sweet 21st for Chris. Hillman was a very influential figure in the development of country rock, give this album Sweetheart of the Rodeo a listen , it’s widely regarded as the first Country Rock LP. On this day in 2010 Willie Nelson was arrested after he was found in possession of 6 ounces of W**d on his Tour Bus Travelling between Los Angeles and Texas. The prosecutor suggested as the amount was small he would let him off with a warning and a $100 fine if he would sing Blue eyes Crying in the Rain for the Court. Of course Willie obliged.
