It’s come to my attention that I never announced that I’m going to be teaming up with our gorgeous Alex from Luxury Bridal Hair + Makeup Specialists | Auckland for the season ahead and will be joining her / the team in some weddings for this season!
I never thought I would join a team/collective after building my brand around who I am. In fact at some extremely busy points over the years it crossed my mind to build a team of my own but soon came to realise that wasn’t going to for me. Instead I’ve poured my heart and soul Auckland Makeup Artist & Hairstylist formerly Caspian Beauty . Even instagram bots last year couldn’t break me down. IYKYK. So yes, I love working for myself and having full control over how I manage my business and craft.
But being a lone worker does come with a strange isolating feeling. You have a lot of industry friends, you meet and chat away with clients, even turn clients into friends but never really get the norms of a job that allows you to have colleagues. There’s a lot of people passing but very little feelings of togetherness because we’re all on own paths of insanity during wedding season. There’s no staff gatherings, work meetings, team bonding and NO CHRISTMAS PARTIES weh😭💔 I know sad girl tears.
So I’m spreading my wings in a new direction this season not just for the growth of my business but for me. To connect with a group of ladies I am truely inspired by and bring my skills to their table so we can create magic together for you all!

Angel faces from the weekend! 🥹
Here’s a little timestamp for a one hour bridal makeup session. Don’t get me wrong. I could take 1 hour on one person and near 2 hours on another. In this case, Rukshar has had a few goes sitting on my chair and so I already know her face, I know the type of client she is. All of this helps so much with time.
I should also mention that I may not need 5 minutes on a single blush application however there’s a lot of moving parts in a bridal room. You have people coming and going, phone calls, short breaks, etc.
Rikki and I have known eachother since 2009-2010. We did the most random things as teens then went off on our own paths after high school then after many years, I’m driving home from work and i see a wondering dog. In true Sadaf and Rikki fashion I get out to find its home and suddenly bump into Rikki. We get the dog in my car, take it to her place and end up catchup on life. I meet her now husband and last weekend I was privileged enough to be apart of her big day! And look at how stunning she looks.
