Woven Earth supports people and children who have escaped family violence and are starting again.
They turn an empty house into a home by providing beds, furniture, homewares, toys and other essentials.
Working with frontline organisations like Police Family Harm Teams, Victim Support and refuges, they help families rebuild their lives in a safe, supportive environment.

TEMPLE FILLER | UNDERSTANDING THE DEFICIT

The temple is an area I assess as part of the face as a whole, not simply as an isolated hollow to “fill”.

With ageing, changes occur across multiple layers of the face. We see changes to bone, soft tissue and fat compartments, which can contribute to loss of support and increasing concavity through the temporal region.

Why does this matter?

Because the temple forms an important transition between the forehead, brow and lateral cheek.

When volume is lost here, that transition can become more angular or hollow, sometimes making the upper face appear more skeletal or aged.

Treatment isn’t about creating a full or rounded temple.

The aim is to restore appropriate structural support, soften the visible deficit and recreate a more harmonious transition through the upper face.

And importantly, not every hollow temple needs filler.

The temporal region contains significant vascular structures, so patient selection, anatomical knowledge, product choice, depth and technique all matter.

Good aesthetic medicine isn’t about filling every deficit we see.

It’s knowing what to treat, what to leave alone, and why. 🤎

These lips weren’t starting from zero, she had pre-existing filler from two previous treatments from another injector.

Filler doesn’t necessarily disappear before your next treatment. After repeated treatments, residual filler can remain in the tissue. What you see externally may soften or reduce over time, but that doesn’t mean all of the product is gone.

At her last appointment we added 0.5ml, allowed it to settle, then reassessed before adding a further 0.5ml.

Why split the treatment?

Because when there’s existing filler, it’s not always about adding more volume. It’s about working with what’s already there, refining the shape, improving definition and adding support exactly where it’s needed.

Less about chasing millilitres. More about knowing where to put them. 🤎

By allowing the first 0.5ml to settle before adding the second, we can reassess the shape, see exactly where the lip needs more support and build with intention rather than simply adding volume.
